DOUBLE GRAND CHAMPION SCHIMMEL STRIPE IT LUCKY, (Ashanti)
Ashanti is out of Schimmel Dadada Dahoops (Caramel Tabby Point Siamese) x Schimmel Sakuya (Oriental Black)

Brown Oriental Classic Tabby There are lots of beautiful Oriental Tabbies in the UK, however, there is only ONE Ashanti....................................................

Ashanti is a Brown (Black) Classic Tabby Oriental stud cat who carries Cinnamon, and dilute (Blue, Lilac, & Fawn) and he is the first Tabby Oriental that we have ever bred which makes him very special indeed. For a few months prior to Ashanti being conceived, I had wanted to try to breed Tabby Orientals and the only way for me to do this was to mate one of our girls to a Tabby Point Siamese stud cat. Of course the problem with that is that having researched the available boys in the UK, there was not a single one that we were happy to put any of our own girls to. The other alternative was to find a Tabby Oriental, however, the few that there are in the UK were too far away for us to use, so we approached Marcelle. We would not have this boy had it not been for the generosity of one of our kitten families, Marcelle. When Bailey went to live with Marcelle, I had asked her about the possibility of keeping him entire so that we could "borrow" him for one of our girls when he came of age. Normally, all of our babies are neutered at 6 months of age, as per our kitten sales agreement. Marcelle did not hesitate to agree and we will always be grateful to her for being so generous with her beautiful boy.

When Ashanti was born, we were just totally, absolutely delighted to have bred our first Tabby Oriental and we had so much fun watching him develop to see what he would eventually be. We weren't the only ones though because our very good mates Tina, the Blue Paw Clan, Maureen and Nikki all shared our excitement as we watched him progress. Tina was, as per usual, incredibly helpful when it came to determining his tabby markings.

Whilst we pride ourselves on the temperaments of Schimmel cats and kittens, we can honestly say without any hesitation, that this boy has the perfect temperament. He is incredibly playful, he is wonderful with the young kittens and is more than happy to share their bed and groom them whenever he feels they need a bath. He is just so laid back and relaxed, and there is not a cat who shares our home that can resist Ashanti. He is one of those cats who will go to anyone at all, even strangers, and if someone will cuddle him, then he is happy. Another reason that Ashanti is incredibly special is that he is the grandson of our beloved Tia Maria who is now in Rainbow Bridge. Words can not express what a darling this boy is. Classic Tabby Oriental

Like a fine wine, as Ashanti is maturing, he is improving with age. He has a beautiful carriage and holds his head so very proudly. He quite literally prances around the house (when he isn't chasing the girls for a bit of fun that is!) and unlike the rest of our male cats, he displays an elegance that is just so beautiful to see, he really is poetry in motion. What I find so special about him is the way he can be a macho, dominant cat one minute, and then once his "business" is done, he is happy to groom, and play with any babies we have in the home, or he will go and play games with our other cats. The only problem with Ashanti, and this is my own fault, is that he is spoilt rotten and as such, he does what he likes, when he likes. I have no one but myself to blame for this because from the moment he was first born, I was constantly picking him up for cuddles, kisses, and told him how beautiful he was. I also would pick him up and show him off to everyone who walked through the door. As a result, Ashanti is fully aware that he can get away with blue murder because he knows that I will not chastise him. It doesn't matter what he does, Ashanti can do no wrong in my eyes at all.

Being very keen, Ashanti surprised us by mating his first girl when he was 6 3/4 months of age. It was at this time that we realised our little boy had indeed become a man and we would have to be careful. Please visit our "Babies Sired" page to view every baby that Ashanti has so far sired.

Ashanti is at very Limited Stud to suitable queens. Please visit our Oriental stud cat services page for further information. Ashanti lives in his own stud room which you can view photos of by clicking here.
