Yet again we are over the moon at Ashanti's show results from today and we certainly were not expecting him to gain another new title considering the quality of cats at this show. We are also delighted that his daughter, Myrtle, also had fantastic results today. Ashanti will now be having a break from the show bench until towards the end of this year. We are very grateful to Ashanti's judges for placing him in the Finals, and many thanks to CoonTICA for running such a superb show.

We are thrilled to bits that at Ashanti's 2nd ever TICA show he attained the title of Grand Champion. What is even more thrilling is that 2 of his children were also shown today and both of them had outstanding results. Ashanti continues to prove time and time again, that not only is he worthy of his title and more, but he has proven that he is not just a "one off" and Ashanti is siring kittens equal to, and better than himself. We have decided that for the time being Ashanti will now take a break from the show ring, but we have not retired him yet. The time has come for his progeny to start proving themselves, as they did today and we are looking forward to seeing yet another generation of Schimmel kittens on the bench. We would like to thank Ashanti's judges for his points and his Final today.

This was Ashanti's first TICA show and we are thrilled with not only how well he did, but also his performance on the day. This was a totally new style of judging for Ashanti, yet he remained unphased and calm throughout the entire day. It is not easy at all to gain Final places at a TICA show, particularly when they are All Breed rings because this means he chosen from the short hair cats, long hair cats and semi long hair cats to gain a Final place. It is difficult enough to get a place in a Specialty Final, but to manage 2 All Breed finals really is something else. Today's fantastic results means that we brought home a Champion cat and we are just over the moon. Ashanti has exceeded every single expectation we had for him and he is already booked into one more TICA show. We may then make the decision to retire him early after that show as he has done all we have asked of him, and then some. We are extremely grateful to Ashanti's Final judges, Vicky Fisher & Thomas Anderson, not only for choosing him for a Final, but also for taking the time to talk with me afterwards.

We are delighted that Ashanti gained his 2nd CC at his 2nd adult show. Ashanti is an absolute pleasure to exhibit and he takes the long day in his stride and just relaxes in the show pen. We are extremely grateful to Pamela Wilding for awarding Ashanti's CC and BOB.

This was Ashanti's first adult show and yet again, we are delighted with how relaxed and chilled out he was, particularly as he had spent the week leading up to the show, having another honeymoon with one of our girls! As you can imagine, we are thrilled that he was awarded his first CC and we are very grateful to Mrs Higgins for Ashanti's certificate and Best of Breed. What also made this day so special, was that his grandmother, Cacao, made up to Grand Premier at the same show.

Ashanti was awarded Best of Variety Oriental Kitten
To say we are over the moon at Ashanti's results is a huge understatement. This is only the 2nd time we have shown our boy, and we would have been happy with the Best of Breed. For Ashanti to go on and win Best of Variety Oriental Kitten totally amazed us. We are still can't quite believe it. Ashanti is an absolute pleasure to show and yesterday was no exception. He settled in his pen straight away, was very chilled out all day long. He had quite a few snoozes inbetween judging and during the afternoon and he was more than happy to be stroked by visitors and people he had never met before. We are extremely grateful, and would like to thank Ashanti's Open judge and Best of Variety judge, Mrs Walpole for his awards.

Judges Critique of Ashanti (Schimmel Stipe It Lucky)

Linda Walpole - Oriental Classic/Mackerel Tabby Kitten
"Medium wedge and large well set ears. Straight profile, level bite and firm deep chin. Long firm muscular body and slim legs. Short close coat, excellent facial pattern and matching oytsters, some linkage down spine, dense black pattern with slight brindling, warm brown ground colour. Long
tail."

Di Harper - AC Oriental Kitten

Huge long strong body, long legs & oval paws, long tail. Short fine rather mixed up Brown Classic Tabby coate. Such a friendly boy, well presented in excellent condition."

This was the first time Ashanti has appeared on the show bench and we are extremely proud of how well he handled such a hectic day, as well as how settled and confident he was whilst being handled by so many different judges and stewards. In typical Schimmel fashion, he was unphased by the entirely new, and very busy, surroundings.

Judges Critique of Ashanti (Schimmel Stipe It Lucky)
Oriental Classic or Mackerel Tabby Kitten - Joyce Higgins
"Head a wedge shape, very good tall well set ears, oriental shaped clear green eyes, profile has a tiny dip, cin firm, a well balanced head. Short fine glossy coat, a warm brown ground colour, butterfly shape fairly good, straight back lines, the oyster on left side clear & defined, the right side not as clear & round. Body good length, muscular & plump, slim legs, oval paws, long tail. In excellent condition with a very friendly temperament."

Oriental maiden Kitten - Pamela Wilding
"Sleepy kitten it was a pity to wake but he is very promising. Very good head, good wedge, straight profile & good chin. Large well set ears, lovely eyes. Well grown & elegant with very good coat. Should go far."

Oriental Kitten Bred by Exhibitor - John Hansson
"Brown Classic Tabby, interesting pattern in that it is a little busy. Very good head type, possessing a virtually even wedge, almost straight profile, good chin & bite, despite the swollen gums due to teething. Large ears with well flared openness to their base, well set. Eyes possess a good oriental shape & setting with a perfectly acceptable shade of green to the colour. Body firm & with good weight & tone, slim legs & small oval paws, fine stringy whiptail. Short close lying, very well prepared coat, lovely sleek texture. Very well defined facial markings, with good ribbons on the cheeks & well marked ‘M ‘ on the brow, some thumbprints on his ears, lines run over the head, though possessing in the main most of the required Classic Tabby pattern this appears to be somewhat overlaid on top of an additional agouti pattern & there is a degree of brindling to further confuse the pattern, well defined leg bracelets & tail rings. Colour could be a little warmer ideally & whilst there is generally good contrast & depth to the deeper coloured pattern areas, the agouti invasion in the background pattern confuses it. Excellent condition & temperament."

AC Oriental Kitten Male - Di Brown
"A strong and well grown baby of very good type. Well balanced medium wedge with good top and large ears set to follow. Oriental eye shape and set but colour virtually amber with the merest hint of green evident. Almost straight profile goodish chin and level bite. Firm body of good length and substance, long strong limbs and oval paws, good tail to balance. Sadly the Classic pattern was generally poor. Butterfly over neck and shoulders fairly indistinct and lacking internal spotting. Spine lines incorrect, central line beginning to break in places and the side lines are virtually non-existent, oysters incomplete and un-matching. The whole pattern is heavily invaded with agouti hairs, but on the plus side it was very sound and the length and texture was excellent. It was interesting that the tail rings were not typical for a classic, they were narrow banded and fairly evenly spaced. Excellent temperament and presentation."
