It was so lovely to have Great Grandmother and Great Granddaughters at the same show and Cacao has done us proud yet again. We were not expecting her to make any Finals at all considering the superb quality of cats at this show so we were delighted when Cacao was placed 5th Best Shorthair Alter. Cacao now needs one more Final in order to gain her next title so at some point this year we may put her on the bench for what may be the last time.

Cacao has done us proud yet again and to have made an All Breed Final is an outstanding achievement, especially considering the quality of stunning long hair, semi long hair, and short hair cats that were present on the day. What also makes Cacao's achievement so special is that her grandson, Ashanti, made up to Champion at the same show. Yet again, Cacao was relaxed and calm throughout the entire day and perfectly happy to show herself off and we are so very proud of her. We are very grateful to Pamela Barrett, The time has now come to possibly retire Cacao from the show bench. She was 5 years old at the time of this show and we feel that we can ask no more from her. We have said time and time again, there are many Black Torties around but there is only one Cacao and we have yet to see another Black Tortie who is her equal and I doubt we ever will. Cats like Cacao come along once in a lifetime and we are blessed to have her in our lives and our home. We both know that her progeny are more than capable of carrying on in her paw prints, as they are constantly proving whenever they are on the show bench.

This was the first time Cacao has ever been entered in an Imperial class and despite the strong competition, we are delighted that she was awarded her first Imperial Certificate. We had a very enjoyable day out and are extremely grateful to Mr Carter for awarding Cacao's certificate.

We are just over the moon that our girl has now made up to Grand Premier. Cacao has done us very proud, not only with her own show career, but also with her progeny. Today's show was no different than any other for Cacao, she behaved impeccably, she showed herself off beautifully. The more Cacao matures, the better she looks and she really is a dream of a girl. As I have said on Cacao's own information page, there are plenty of Black Torties around, but there is, and only ever will be, one Cacao. The results speak for themselves and Cacao has done us proud to day. After Cacao gained her last PC in July 2006, we had a chat and made the decision to retire her, however, in January 2007, we figured that it would be fun to bring her out of retirement and put her out for Grand Certificates, and whilst we think our Cacao is stunning, we were not really expecting her to have the day that she did at the Bristol & District. In fact, I don't think it's actually sunk in properly yet. Thank you very much to Mrs Leighton and Mrs Harper for awarding Cacao's 2 certificates and Best of Variety.
Judges Critique of Cacao (Pr Chinasea Aria) Mary Kalal - AC Oriental Non-Breeder Neuter Female "A lovely female with a long firm body, dainty legs and paws and long fine tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of clear green. Coat short and close, well patched and mingled in rich shades of red on black; excellent condition and beautifully presented." Celia Leighton - Oriental Premier Neuter, Female "A lovely large well grown girl still beaming with health and style even though she is not a youngster any more. Lovely large well flared ears with a good wide base and oriental eyes of a very good green colour. Very slight dip to nose in profile and with a slight muzzle pinch when not relaxed but otherwise with a nice wedge head. Very nice long tubular body which retains her muscle tone very well with a graceful neck and tall standing limbs. Excellent short fine close-lying coat in wonderful condition and showing a very nice black tortie pattern with black and shaded of red well mingled throughout. Good long tapering tail and very easy to handle."

We are extremely proud of Cacao, not only because she was awarded her PC, but more importantly for her wonderful temperament at the show. Cacao has not graced the show bench since September 2003 and this was her first time out since then. She settled in her pen straight away and was more than happy for the judges to handle her so we are just over the moon.
Judges Critique of Cacao (Chinasea Aria) Sheila Hamilton - Oriental Tortie Neuter "A mature girl showing overall good type & balance. Medium length to head with a firm chin. Her bite is level. Eyes are of a slightly deep setting but are of a good oriental shape & green colour. Profile is almost straight but her muzzle is marginally squared off. Long typical body with good length to limbs & good neck carriage. Tail tapers but could be a trifle longer. Close lying coate of a good texture. Well mingled showing all three colours. Well prepared & presented & is of a very pleasing disposition."

Judge - Mrs J Reed: "Right little madam of a Black Tortie! Medium wedge with small pinch exacerbated by her puffing her whisker pads in her ire! Large ears, open to base, just need a little more width between to compliment the lines. Eyes of good shape but of a yellow tone, almost straight profile, good chin & bite. Fine neck and firm body - just a little short as yet, long fine whip tail. Jet black base with excellent bright red patches & minging - I loved her bright gold "chain of office" around her neck! Excellent coat texture, just a little long."
