We had no intentions in the beginning of keeping Ivy however as time passed by, we still had not found the right home for her. Although we had inquiries for her from both pet families and breeders, we didn't feel that any of the families were the "right ones". Months passed by and before we knew it, Ivy was 7 months of age and had become part of our family albeit unintentionally.

I can't say that we are disappointed at having yet another Cinnamon Tortie girl in the home and Ivy and her sister, Mokatika, are extremely close. They are often found sleeping together and they play some of the most volatile games you could ever imagine. Ivy's personality is so very different from her sister's because with Ivy, everything has to be on her terms. If I want a cuddle, then I have no hope at all unless Ivy is in the mood. When she is in the mood she is extremely cuddly and purry and she is such a happy child.

When I watch Ivy, I do become aware that this is a girl who will give me many more grey hairs because she is your typical Tortie in that she is incredibly stubborn, very wicked, strong willed, and demanding. Just like her mother she has almost caused countless accidents by running in between my legs as I go up and down the stairs and this young lady is extremely fast. She loves to be outside in the cat run basking in the sunshine, showing off her beautiful Cinnamon colouring.

Whilst all of our own cats are named after liqueurs, Ivy somehow managed to keep hold of her "kitten diary" name. We didn't feel that it would be fair to change her name at 8 months of age and felt it would confuse her so Ivy she is.
