SCHIMMEL FOREVER CHARMED, (Tuaca)
Tuaca is out of Schimmel Double Intention (Chocolate Point Siamese) x Ch Aportent Mixedminx (Oriental Black Tortie)

Affection and sunshine wrapped up in a red fur coat. There is no other way to describe our Oriental Red stud cat. What a delight this young man is. Tuaca was originally homed with his brother, however, 9 days later, through no fault of THEIR own, the boys were returned to us. Unlike his brother Tuaca seemed to rely on Graham and myself, and was extremely demanding of our love and our attention. After assessing him, it become abundantly clear that this little charmer was going nowhere. He had decided that now he was back home, he was staying put. Graham and I discussed his future and thought what a fantastic asset he will be to our breeding program and what a great addition he would be to our cat family. Prior to Tuaca coming home, we had already made the decision to retire Sheridans in 2007, and as Tuaca is Sheridans' son, then his homecoming was the perfect opportunity to help us make up our minds as to who would take over Sheridans' duties.

Tuaca has a non stop purr, you only have to look at him and his little motor starts going. It is impossible to resist picking this baby up and cuddling him, all he has to do is come to any of us, look up in our eyes, and we all melt straight away. We do feel incredibly blessed to have this darling boy in our home and our lives. Like all Red boys, he is such a ray of sunshine. He just loves the world and expects the whole world to love him. Of course, being a Red, there are times when he really does try our patience, but considering we share our home with 3 Tortie girls, this is something we are definitely used to.

Despite being grown up now, Tuaca and his mum, Toussaint, are still extremely close and every afternoon, they can be found together curled up in the bottom bunk bed having a nap. Toussaint still adores her son, and he adores his mother which is so sweet to see, especially considering he is so much larger than his mummy.

After Tuaca sired a couple of litters, it became extremely evident that our darling red man was not really suited to the life of a stud cat. When he was in the stud room, he constantly wanted to get out to be with the other cats and he doesn't really have the "dominant" nature we need for a stud boy when it comes to the ladies. We were also quite concerned about the lines behind Tuaca and the possible health issues with them which is why we have never kept a kitten back for breeding from either Tuaca, or his mother. In March 2008 Tuaca was neutered and rejoined the rest of our cat family. We don't feel that we have lost anything by neutering our boy, instead, we have a much happier stud cat now and we are not contributing in any way to the health problems that are already so prevalent in the Siamese breeds.
