Sambuca is an Oriental Black and when Cacao produced Sambuca for us in her first ever litter, we were over the moon. Sambuca is such a lovely cat and she is a lovely mum who simply adores her babies.

She has a really lovely little personality and at times does appear rather mad. She is as as loud as her sister an is even more active than her. Her mum is Cacao, owned by ourselves and her dad was Chico, a lovely Havana boy owned by Keith & Doreen Sillis.

There is something very appealing about this girl which makes her so hard to resist. She truly is a treasure with an outstanding personality, her mum's fabulous good looks and we certainly couldn't ask for any more.

We have really enjoyed watching her grow from a mad little baby into the stunning girl that she is today. Sambuca had a very promising show career ahead of her but unfortunately, we had to retire Sambuca from the show bench back in 2005 as she had an argument with her sister which resulted in soft tissue damage to her tail, as well as major damage to the haws in both eyes. Whilst the damage to Sami's tail did disappear with time, her eyes remain the same. Whether or not she ever graces the show bench again remains to be seen but we are not particularly bothered either way. We already know that Sambuca has fabulous show quality and we don't need a title for her to prove it.

As Sambuca matured, she calmed down an awful lot and she loves nothing more than to spend her time with any babies in the home, and to spend time sunning herself in the cat run. She is an ultra affectionate with humans and with other cats but being a Black she has her own special brand of stubbornness and determination bless her. also, being a typical Black, she can, and does still have those moments of "pure evil" but then she's a Black, and she is entitled to these moments. We wouldn't have her any other way.

Sambuca was a wonderful mother to her babies, and we are delighted to also share our home with 3 of Sami's children. We have Cointreau, (Sami's Seal Point Siamese daughter), we have Ashanti (Sami's Brown Oriental Classic Tabby son), and we have Kamora (Sami's Cinnamon Oriental Classic Tabby daughter). Her three children are an absolute joy, just like their mother.

Sami will be neutered in June 2009 as her "breeding" career has now come to an end. She will spend the rest of her life as a "loveable loafer" in our home where she will continue to mother future generations and help to keep the babies under control.
