Sage is an Oriental Blue and at long last, Graham's dream of owning a Blue has been fulfilled, although certainly not in a way that we had ever intended. Just like his brother Parsley, he was returned to us when he was 1 1/2 years old. This was through no fault of his wonderful owner whose circumstances had sadly changed and she was no longer able to keep her boys. As a result, I went and picked up the boys on May 25, 2006 to bring them back here to live. This now means that we have 3 siblings in the home from the same litter because both boys are Amarula's brothers.

He is a rather large boy and looks more like his mum than his dad. When the boys first arrived, Sage was the one who was more daring, however, during integration with our own cat family, Sage because a bit more cautious but after a month, he had certainly settled in enough to be part of the family.

Sage makes a wonderful "Uncle" to all the babies in the home and he is forever playing with them and grooming them. He took to the babies straight away and they do all love to play games with their Uncle Sage. He also spends at least 10 minutes of every day wrestling with his father and both he and Ice enjoy their macho wrestling matches although neither of them ever seem to actually win.

He can be a very demanding boy when visitors are here and quite often if we are standing in the hallway, he will sit on the top of the activity scratch post and bat the visitors on the head to try and get their attention. Sage knows that he is beautiful and his gorgeous blue colouring really does stand out compared to the rest of our Oriental cats. Like his brother, Sage is a real "people lover" and he is a very snuggly cat. Also, in typical Oriental fashion, Sage is quite a vocal boy.

Sage is an absolute pleasure to show and his title, and show wins were just a bonus. After Sage was made up to Premier, we discussed whether or not we would retire him from the bench or carry on showing him. So far, we have no idea so we will see what happens in the future.
