We had a rather surprise phone call on September 16, 2005 by the renowned David Manning of Animal-Ark asking us about the possibility of taking our cats/kittens photos as David's company has been providing animals of all kinds to companies, film, television throughout the UK for over 15 years now. We were obviously extremely flattered that someone of David's caliber thought our babies were good enough to be used for this sort of thing. Then on September 22, 2005, David and his photographer spent a few hours at our house setting up their studio etc. and then it all began. Endless photos of our cats and our kittens and to be honest, I stayed totally out of the way, other than popping in and out just to make sure everything was okay, and to make the odd cup of tea here and there. It's obvious to see where David's fantastic reputation for his handling of animals comes about as he had no problems at all with our mischievous Siamese & Oriental cats. I think that one of the greatest compliments ever given to me was David telling me that he was surprised we had never been approached for this sort of "work" before. According to David, the Schimmel cats and kittens were incredibly laid back and totally unphased by their photographic studio, being handled by total strangers whom they had never met, and the incredibly large flashes that kept going off all day long. Here at Schimmel, we put a lot of emphasis on our babies' temperaments because after all, our babies are bred to become wonderful, happy, confident kittens for their new kitten families . It was a really exciting day for us when David was here and more importantly, our cats and even our tiny babies really enjoyed their special day as well. We are expecting a disc in the post to arrive in a couple of weeks' time with the images on there and we are looking forward to sharing them with you here on this page.
