"Shergar is doing brilliantly.

We spent all of Sunday evening together and took him up to bed with us - He didn't sleep on his bed but behind the curtain. He woke us up early on Monday morning so I took him downstairs, checked his litter (not much use, just wee). Gave him some breakfast (Felix - Lamb, JW biscuits and water) He is eating very well and drinking so am pleased about that. I made sure that every time he ate or drank I put him in his litter tray and I am proud to say he hasn't had one mishap - so thanks to you he is so well trained. He spent most of the day with me. Falling asleep on my tummy (which was fine because I was so tired as well) or when I went to make a cup of tea he would scream the house down and go and hide behind the sofa until I came back. One thing that was nice was when I went to get changed upstairs, I could hear him calling for me (very loudly) and when I took a peep, he was climbing the stairs all on his own and when he saw me, he ran up to me for more cuddles. He ventured into the kitchen and I have noticed anything that is strange, he meows very loudly. I suppose it will only be a matter of time before he is used to everything :0).

He is playing very well with all of his toys and using the cat tree perfectly. He is climbing on the hammock part of it himself and falling asleep under the sunshine rays which is great to see. I have taken lots of pictures and will attempt to send you some either electronically or on disc.

I must admit, I was a bit concerned that he was a bit too clingy and thought I would pop to the shops for 10 minutes so he can learn that when I go out, I will be coming back. So I popped out and took the rubbish out, when I came back he was hiding behind the sofa. I called him and he came bounding out. Then we played some more and he ate some more and then I went to the shops. I was out for about 15 minutes and when I came in he was playing on his cat tree and he was fine.

He also had his first poo of the day (which I was really pleased about because as far as I could tell he was only weeing) so at least I now know that everything is in working order.

He also had his first visitors. Duncan's mum and nan came over. He didn't run and hide (I told Duncan to come in quietly), his ears perked up, but he sat contently in my lap as they came in. He was happy to be held and cuddled by mum and nan and then went over for more cuddles with Duncan. He has another visitor tonight - my driving instructor, so he is getting used to other people and not just me and Duncan.

Last night, he was quite demanding. Now I know what it must be like to have a baby! He cried a bit, climbed on the bed a bit, played with Duncan's toes a bit, slept a bit, cried a bit more, climbed over my head a bit, bit my fingers a bit, climbed onto Duncan and drink his water from his pint glass on the side! In the end I got up with him at 6.30. Pleased to see he had used the little tray again, (another poo), he had eaten most of his biscuits and there was a bit of food left. So I washed his bowls, fresh water, Hi Life Petit Pate and some biscuits. I only gave him half a tin and he loved the pate. While he was eating I changed his litter and realised that this is what it's going to be like for a very long time, as I woke up 1.30 early to spend time with him, and play with him and give him some cuddles before I had to leave. I gave him the rest of the Hi Life and we just chilled on the sofa for a bit and then I have now left him in the capable hands of Duncan. With post it notes around the house "keep toilet seat down", "no water in the sink" "food for Shergar, only half a pouch and only if no wet food left"

I must admit I did feel guilty on the train this morning and I can't wait to get home.

Needless to say, I think he has adapted really well, am totally and utterly in love with him and as mum says, the pictures that are on the website do him no justice because he is the most beautiful thing on four legs ever!

I can't thank you enough for bringing him into our lives and making his first 14 so bloody perfect!"

"I thought you'd want to see how my baby boy has been getting on over the last couple of days.

Would be grateful if you would let me know that you have received them and what you think. I know, I know - that's he's the most beautiful thing ever, but what mum gets tired of hearing those words eh?

He's continuing to do really well and I actually had a Shergar free (well nearly) night last night. I've just spoken to Duncan who says at this moment in time, they are both on the sofa, with Shergar on his lap busy nibbling his fingers (something to do with the jacket potato and meatballs Duncan had for lunch no doubt!) ;0)

Glad the other racers are doing well along with Liquorice. Although a bit sad for you that you had another leaver today ;0("

"Just to let you know that we took Shergar to the vet last night and he has a clean bill of health (obviously). He's put on weight, and he was so good traveling to the vet and being handled by the vet, he really did us proud. He was perfect. Ears, eyes, teeth, everything. She confirmed when he needs to come back for his jabs and even though he is a house cat, we gave him the vaccination against leukemia. He took the needle very well and got lots of cuddles and cat treats as a reward.

It's funny how sometimes you struggle to get cats into their cat carriers, but after a trip to the vets, they seem ever so keen and eager to get back into them and to get home :0).

PS, he's showing signs of Tia's monkey trick. He loves to chase a ball or rolled up paper (his preferred toy at the moment - typical isn't it? You spend loads of money on cat toys and what do they prefer....a piece of paper.!) and clench it between his teeth and brings it back to us and promptly drops it by our feet ready to throw again.

Oh yes, jumping on Duncan's head first thing in the morning wanting to play is another one of his little tricks. What can I say... hours of fun with my baby boy!

Good to see your other babies getting on so well in their new "posh" box. Does that make the Racers the "poor relations"?!!!

One last thing, it's lovely to see all of his brothers and sisters looking so beautiful and settled in their new homes. Even though I have Shergar, I've spent everyday reading the kitten diaries since January 21 and watching them all grow up, it's great that I haven't seen the last of them by way of the owners galley."

"Just another wee update for you. You would not believe how much Shergar has grown. He continues to be an absolute angel although he has taken to bringing his toy mouse to bed with us every night. He sends his love and also his congratulations to his fur mummy on the birth of his half siblings!"
