The first thing I have to say is to please ignore the state of the kitten room in today's photos. I actually took the camera into the room first thing this morning to take photos because I knew if I left it until after I had fed everyone and done the cleaning and cat chores that I never would have taken any. If nothing else, it will give you an indication of just how messy these little babies can actually be :) In actual fact, it is nothing short of a miracle that there are even diaries (short ones admittedly) with photos online today. I will be pleased when Christmas is over and life is not so hectic.

It has been one of "those days" today, starting off with us having to go and buy a new washing machine as ours packed it in yesterday. In this home we can not be without a washing machine for more than one day because of the cats and the kittens. We are constantly washing bedding etc. so we had to make getting a new machine a priority and that took us out of the house for a few hours today meaning I am even more behind than usual.

The biggest change for our Monkeys is Funky Monkey in the respect that he is no longer a he, nor is he a Seal Point Siamese. It would appear that upon examination yesterday, Funky Monkey is a female and is a possible Tortie Point Siamese although I'm not 100% convinced about that yet, but he is definitely a girl. This means I am either getting old and have not been paying enough attention to the sex as I should have done, or I have been breeding Orientals too long now and as such, the Siamese colours are not really of any importance to me. Either way, it did mean that I had to send a rather rapid email explaining to Funky's possible new family that the boy they may be interested in is a girl.

Our Monkeys are actually more outgoing than the Indians in the respect that they are coming downstairs constantly without any fear whatsoever. They are so funny because at 5 weeks of age, it's quite difficult for them to tackle the stairs as you can imagine yet this doesn't stop them going up and down. Drambuie isn't happy about it though and 2 days ago I had to laugh because Funky Monkey had come all the way down the stairs, was sitting on the 2nd bottom step and along came Drambuie, picked Funky Monkey up and carried her all the way back up the stairs and into the kitten room.

Many apologies for the lack of diary entries. In actual fact, we have almost skipped an entire week. Most of you can probably appreciate that it is one of the busiest times of year for all of us and as such, I've just not had a spare moment to get any diaries online. I am hoping that tomorrow I can actually get a relatively normal entry complete with photos online.

The babies are all doing well, the kitten room door is left open permanently now. The only time it is closed is during feeding times so that our adults do not go in and eat all the kitten food. I know that I should be making plans to vaccinate our Indians, but as this is right on Christmas, I'm not entirely sure whether or not they will be done this side of Christmas.
