We are 2 weeks old now!

Day 13 - November 26, 2007

After a manic few days of rearranging our home and the way we live, and converting one of the kitten rooms to "indoor stud accommodation", I am finally getting diaries back on track. Although this is going to be a manic week as we have a few babies leaving us from Friday onwards so I will be up to my eyeballs in paperwork so don't expect great diary entries this week. By the end of this coming weekend, I'll be down to just 2 kitten diaries so life may become a tad easier.

At 13 days of age, all of our Monkeys have their eyes open now and they are seem to be growing at a rapid rate. Punky Monkey is definitely the loudest baby and oh boy does she have a voice on her. It's actually ear piercing and when she does not want to be weighed or examined, she screams at the top of her voice, pretending that I am "killing" her which naturally makes Toussaint come rushing over to see what is going on. Skunky Monkey on the other hand is extremely laid back and placid, in typical "Red" fashion. They really are all such beautiful babies though and I know at some point in time I will have to move them out of our bedroom and into the main kitten room with Drambuie and the Indians. I'm not in any rush to do this though as they are still so incredibly young whereas the Indians are quite big and boisterous now.

Day 9 - November 22, 2007

I would ask you all to bear with me please as there will be no kitten diary entries until Sunday or Monday at the earliest. The reason for this is that due to situations with our inside boys, we have now had to rethink the way we do things. As such, we are currently in the process of rearranging our entire home and the way we have things structured here. These changes will be much better for all of our cats, and our Rottweiler, Jag.

As such, the next few days are going to be very busy making some huge changes and this has to take a priority over the kitten diaries. I know this is disappointing for some of our kitten families but once in a while, the diaries have to take a back step to more important matters. I will say that our babies are all doing incredibly well with no worries at all and hopefully by Sunday or Monday we will be back to normal so please check back then.

Day 8 - November 21, 2007

Unfortunately for any of our diary readers, our Monkeys are currently at that stage of their lives where it is so darn difficult to know what to write about them. All they actually do is drink milk, sleep, and call out to their mother if she isn't in the bed with them. That really is their entire lives wrapped up in one short sentence. Now I could just sit here and "invent" things to write about and whilst it would be entertaining, I really can't be bothered so instead, you'll just have to put up with a very short diary entry and lots of photos :)

Day 7 - November 20, 2007

At 1 week of age our Monkeys are progressing beautifully and we couldn't be more pleased with them. Their weights below will give you an indication of just how well they are all doing their weight weekly gains are fantastic considering we have 5 babies in the litter.

Not all of our babies have their eyes fully open yet but I'm this will have changed within the next couple of days. They are at that stage now where there little limbs are getting stronger each day and they are able to crawl much further distances than they could a few days ago.
