Day 34 - August 26, 2007
As you will noticed, we have skipped a few day's entries. The reason for this is that on Friday, I was extremely busy and then on Saturday I was in Bristol at a cat show with Ashanti and Cacao, both of whom did extremely well. One of our older babies, Snow Queen, was due to leave us at 9am on Sunday morning, and then the biggest shock of all was getting a phone call from Graham during the afternoon of the show to tell me Amaretto had gone into labour. So between the cat show, the birth, and our baby leaving us, I have not had a spare second to get diary entries online. I am desperately hoping that the kitten diaries can resume as per normal tomorrow.

Day 31 - August 23, 2007
There are no kitten diaries for today because we left the house at about 11:30am and didn't arrive back home until about 5pm so all the babies were fed just before we left, and then again as soon as we came home but obviously they all have countless bowls of kitten biscuits in their rooms. None of the babies appeared to have destroyed anything in our absence which was a relief :)

Day 30 - August 22, 2007
Ock showed some interest in eating from the plate last night, but that interest did not extend to actually opening her mouth and trying the food. I had put down a plate of freshly cooked roast chicken, which reminds me, I've not put today's 2 chickens in the oven yet and it's already 1016! Right, 10 minutes later chickens are now roasting which is a good thing because I'd have had a riot on my hands this evening if the cats/kittens chicken wasn't cooked. Anyway, Ock sniffed the chicken, she sniffed the babies either side of her who were eating the chicken, she sniffed the chicken again, stuck her tongue out, changed her mind and walked off. So fair enough, she still isn't sure that she wants to eat yet, doesn't matter as she is a good size. Thames, bless him, well he just had absolutely no idea at all. I picked him up, put him in front of the plate, showed him the chicken, and he promptly proceeded to walk straight across the plate, straight through the chicken, and couldn't not understand why the other babies were a bit annoyed with him. I guess it's safe to say that neither of our Water Babies are ready just yet to start weaning. It could have been worse mind you, it might have been a plate of Natures Menu and Hi Life kitten food. Can you imagine the mess that would have made if he had walked through it?

Day 29 - August 21, 2007

Many apologies as there are no photos today because I've just not had any time at all sorry and even though it's only half way through the day, I still have an awful lot to get through this afternoon.

It did occur to me today, that it is entirely possible that one of our next 2 due ladies (both due before the end of this month) could produce an Oriental Blue Spotted Tabby, in which case, we would have very strong inclinations to keep her. This would mean of course that we would have to make a decision between that one and darling Ock. In one way, I'm hoping neither lady will give us Blue Spotted but going off our current litters, there is an extremely good chance that Amaretto will have Blue Spotted's, a very high chance in fact. So I am trying desperately hard not to be come overly attached to Ock at the moment which is of course easier said than done :) It's fairly obvious I think to anyone that I could quite happily keep both Thames and Ock here as they are incredibly special little children, both a lovely mixture of their mum and dad but I am sure Nicky and Karl would not be happy if I were to keep Thames here :) At some point this week, the door to the kitten room will be opened up and the babies will be out and about should they choose to do so. They will also then be mixing with our older babies (at least when the older ones happen to be upstairs) and whilst Thames and Ock are still a bit young, I honestly don't feel that giving them the run of the upstairs, or indeed the whole house if they choose to venture down) will really do them any harm at all.

Day 28 - August 20, 2007

Our Water Babies are 4 weeks of age today and I've not had a moment's worry with them. They are currently looking, and behaving, exactly as they should for the 4 week mark and I am just totally delighted. Both of them are doing really, really well but I still stand by the fact that they are "odd" looking babies. In actual fact, the older they get, the odder looking they become, but in a totally adorable way of course :) Anyway it is now 1654, I still have to go to Tesco and this is the last of today's kitten diaries so I'm stopping here and uploading them all before it turns into midnight!
