Kitten Diaries
Tia Maria
March 2005
Tia Maria's 3rd Kitten Diary - March 2005 to july 2005
Day 76 - June 12, 2005

As mentioned in the Planets' diary, the Three Musketeers are having "one of those days" which means that anyone and everyone is fair game and they are all in feisty moods and have been wrestling with each other and trying to involved the poor Planets in their battles all morning. Of course it's made worse by the fact that they sit on my chair or on my lap while their battles rage and even I get caught up in the middle of it. Naturally, Aramis is the main offender but D'Artagnan and Athos were certainly not innocent parties at all. I do wonder sometimes where they get all their energy from. It's 12:13 as I write this entry and the babies have only just started to settle down on a chair to go to sleep now but up until this point, they have been on the go all morning. I do recall telling D'Artagnan's owner, Gemma, that he was not as mischievous as his brother and sister but no doubt she will look at today's photos and think I have lied to her :) Of course when they aren't being little lunatics, they will have the most wonderful cuddles and purrs that you could imagine and while this is happening, you soon forget that 20 minutes previously you were washing your hands of them.

Day 75 - June 11, 2005
I must say how nice it is to have the kitten diaries back to normal now after the site re-design although I'm not sure just how happy the babies are to have their human mum running after them everywhere sticking a camera in their face. Someone once said to me that Schimmel babies must think that all humans have a camera attached to their hand as a permanent fixture. Do you think they were trying to tell me something? Our Three Musketeers are absolutely delightful and doing so very well. D'Artagnan is so very cuddly of late and he's constantly on my lap purring away and pushing himself in my fact to stop me from whatever I'm doing to give him 100% attention which is sweet. Athos on the other hand, who was also quite clingy, has suddenly remembered that he's a boy and that the should be bossing all the girls around and he herds them up like a little sheepdog, not that any of them every listen. As for Aramis, words defeat me for a description of her because nothing has changed other than she's actually more intent on causing trouble now than ever before. Athos & Jupiter were sitting on my chair this morning and Aramis saw them, climbed straight up on the chair, pinned Athos down and started a wrestling match. The poor guy was sound asleep and got quite a shock. This is what she does, time and time again, and I do despair of her ever becoming the regal, elegant Siamese that her mum is.

Day 74 - June 10, 2005
Our Musketeers have been doing really well since their vaccinations yesterday which really pleases me. They have been bouncing around all over the place and have been very active with huge appetites so I am very relieved because I do always find the first vaccinations so very worrying. Aramis and D'Artagnan have been chasing each other all through the house and the cat run today and poor Athos got in the middle of their games and ended up in the water bowl by accident. Once I dried him off though he was perfectly happy again and then started to play with the Planets then. Most of their waking time now is spent in the cat run because they don't have the run of the house at the moment due to having recently been vaccinated however in a couple of day's time they will have full house access again which should make them happy.

Day 73 - June 9, 2005
Just like the Planets, our Musketeers had their first set of kitten vaccinations today and guess who was the worst behaved baby at the vets? Aramis, who else! Everyone else was very brave but she had a tail like Basil Brush! As soon as they were back they leapt out of the carrier and started running around all over the place. You wouldn't have thought they had ever been at the vets to see how they were acting. D'Artagnan and Athos have been in very loving, attention seeking moods and I always seem to have either one or both of them on my lap or on my shoulder. D'Artagnan is constantly coming to me for kisses which is really lovely.

Day 72 - June 8, 2005
It's difficult typing this entry at the moment because Aramis is on my shoulder, purring away like mad and I keep having to stop to give her cuddles. The Musketeers spent quite a bit of time out in the cat run this morning, playing with each other and trying to stalk the adult cats and it was quite amusing to watch. D'Artagnan was trying to impress everyone else by showing off his hunting skills when he was stalking his mum however it didn't quite work out according to how he wanted. He was so intent on trying to creep up quietly behind Tia Maria that he hadn't noticed Sheridans was doing the same thing to him. Just as D'Artagnan was about to pounce, Sheridans jumped on him from behind, scared the heck out of him and he came running back inside.

Day 71 - June 7, 2005
Today's entry in both diaries is exactly the same. I was with the babies for a few hours this morning but I then had an appointment in the dental clinic where I was sedated so naturally, I wasn't able to function at all yesterday afternoon. The babies were all in the wonderful care of husband and daughter.

Day 70 - June 6, 2005

At long last everything here is starting to get back to normal. Anyone reading this entry will be doing so via our new Schimmel web site. Normally by this time of their lives, our babies would have had their first set of vaccinations however, as the Planets are only a week behind them in age, I thought it much better to wait until the Planets reached 9 weeks of age and then I can have both litters vaccinated together. This does mean that our Musketeers will not be leaving us until 14 weeks of age as opposed to the normal 13 weeks, which is disappointing for new owners but nicer for me as I get to have them to myself for an extra week :) Since the last "proper" diary entry, not a great deal has changed apart from the fact that the Musketeers have grown even bigger and Aramis actually gets naughtier by the day! I did not think this was possible. At the moment Athos, who is such a wonderful boy, still is not spoken for whereas Aramis as most of you know will be remaining with us and D'Artagnan will be sharing his home with Gemma, Craig and Cleo (Cleo is a little girl from Amaretto's last litter). The Musketeers go all over the place now and they have appetites like horses and are eating me out of house and home. They really should look like barrels with the amount that they eat however they burn it off so very quickly as they are such active babies.

I won't be able to put any photos in the diary entries until I do Wednesday's entry because I do some time to catch up on a few more bits and pieces first.
