Kitten Diaries
Tia Maria
May 2004
Tia Maria's 2nd Kitten Diary - May 2004 to august 2004
Day 100 - August 16, 2004
Today is our wedding anniversary and is also the day that Gino and Birchy left me. They are now sharing their home with a lovely lady in London where they will be very, very happy. It was so much harder losing these 2 than any of the others because they were here with us for that extra time which meant that by the time they left, they were well and truly integrated in our lives as part of the family. After Gerda left with her new babies, I felt rather lost and when I went to bed Monday night, I looked into the hallway expecting to see my 2 girls looking at me from their radiator bed however, they weren't there.

We've now come to the end of the R's diary and Tia Maria has done me proud yet again, as has Ice. It hasn't always been easy and we've had some sad and some worrying moments but looking back, I would do it over and over again. The R's were a simply beautiful litter and I had a lot of fun with them, even during their naughtiest moments. I will admit to finding it very hard work, mainly because I had other litters here as well as some feline boarders so whilst the R's were maturing and growing up, I really did have my hands full. Each and every single R is a truly delightful baby and they are all going to bring their new owners, many years of happiness, joy and love (and no doubt entertainment). I'd like to thank each and every one of the R's new owners for sharing their life with my very special babies, and also for the many updates and reports that I've had since my babies left me. Like my previous 2 litters, I've been so very lucky with the owners of my babies as they are all wonderful people and I know they will have my babies' best interests at heart. I'd also like to thank my vet, Andy Garton, for doing, as usual, a superb job in maintaining the health of our babies and our cats. Thank you also to all of you who have been following the R's progress and hopefully, over time, photos of more "mature" R's will appear in our New Homes Gallery. My one consolation is that I still have the Potters and the Gumnuts here to keep me incredibly occupied but I must admit to welcoming a few months break after my last 2 litters do leave me for their new homes.

Day 95 - August 11, 2004
Today was supposed to have been the last entry for the R's diary as Gino and Birchy were going to their new home today. They are however, now going to be with me until Monday so obviously there will be a final entry on Monday when my babies leave me. I'm going to be sad to see them go but I have been lucky enough to get a few extra days with them.

Day 91 - August 8, 2004
Yet another horrible day for me as Daisy has now left me. She looked so tiny in her little carrier, far too small to be leaving me but she's going to a wonderful home that she'll be wearing with a lovely Siamese lady named Lucy. Daisy refused to look up at me for the photos and show me her lovely eyes which is just typical of Daisy. The last 13 weeks have simply flown by, far too quickly for my liking and I can't believe that my babies have now gone on to new homes. I only have 2 R's left and that is Gino and Birchy, both of whom are going to be sharing the same home and they will be leaving me a bit later on in the week. Although this isn't quite the last entry, there will now be no more updates now until Thursday afternoon when my last 2 babies leave. Gino and Birchy have now been thrown in with the rest of the "pack" in our house and they are adjusting to it extremely well. Their horrid mother Tia, who is in a foul mood today has been moved to the kitten room, on her own until Thursday evening as if she is up there with no scent or hint of Ice, she will hopefully stop calling and we'll have a bit of peace and quiet.
