Day 69 - September 15, 2007

Prior to beginning today's entries, I would like to warn you all that there will be no kitten diaries tomorrow. I have a very full on day tomorrow with one baby leaving, I have something else on, and then we have friends visiting so I will not have a spare moment.

Actually, have just only now finished 2 kitten diaries, it is 1600, I have not even started the paperwork for Ugly Duckling who is leaving tomorrow, I am tearing my hair out and stress levels are at their highest, in which case, the kitten diary for the Nuts, the Detectives, and the Ray J's will just become a "photo" entry because I now need an extra 10 hours just to somehow get through the rest of the day. Morse had a visit from his new mum today but I will talk about that on Monday now.

Day 68 - September 14, 2007

We'd like to start off today's kitten diaries by congratulating Julie of Lorimnailie Siamese & Orientals on the birth of her new kittens, sired by our own Ashanti.

There really are no entries today as my day has not gone according to plan at all. In fact, I've ended up being very behind with absolutely everything and had no hope at all in doing kitten diaries.

Day 67 - September 13, 2007
Nancy Drew seems to have turned into a bit of a terror overnight. Her sister, Miss Marple, has always been the boisterous one but lately, Nancy Drew has taken on that role. I had such a fight with her this morning when I was trying to hoover. Although to be more accurate, Nancy Drew was fighting with the hoover. No matter which part of the room I was trying to hoover, Nancy was right in front of the hoover, belting it with her paw, not caring in the least that she could be sucked up any second. There was no way on earth she was letting that hoover go about it's business. We do like our babies to get used to the noise of the hoover but Nancy Drew just takes this one step too far. Oddly enough though, she only ever does this when the nozzle attachment is on, and never the carpet attachment.

Day 66 - September 12, 2007
The kitten diaries for the Water Baby, the Nuts and the Detectives are all the same today and basically they are just "photo" diaries. I have had an incredibly hectic day. First thing this morning I did the diaries for the 2 younger litters, the Chef's and the Ray J's and for these 2 litters I needed individual photos as we are still trying to determine colour and pattern. After that, the camera batteries died and by the time they were charged back up, it was 3pm. So I do apologise for not having any text to go with today's entries but at least there are photos :)

Day 65 - September 11, 2007
Most of our Detectives had absolutely no interest at all in having their photo taken this morning because they were too busy feeding from Tia Lusso. She was being incredibly patient although there are times when they do start to annoy her because at this age, there really is no need for them to be feeding as they all eat proper kitten food. I did actually see her pushing them away from her when they were trying to feed this morning and I can't say I blame her at all. Poor Miss Marple stood in the water bowl today and had to be dried off with a towel. I have no idea what she was doing as I was changing the bedding in the hallway bunk beds at the time and I heard a splash, poked my head around the corner to see what had happened and there was Miss Marple climbing out of the water bowl looking rather bewildered.

Day 64 - September 10, 2007

There are no photos today of the Detectives or the Nuts as Ock is fading and as she is still in the kitten room with the babies I do not want to take any photos.

Following in the Nuts' paw prints, the Detectives have decided it is now their turn to be "bathroom babies". They are in and out of the bath tub, they are trying to climb up onto the vanity basin and I am just so relieved that we all have a strict rule in this home of toilet seats down at all times :) Sherlock is most distraught that he can't quite jump up into the bathtub yet like the rest of the babies so he has been going behind the bathroom door and pouncing on every unsuspecting baby that happens to run past him.

Day 63 - September 9, 2007

There are no photos in today's kitten diaries as it's been a "relaxing day" as we had our very good friends, Caryll, Ray, Jim, Jacqui and Marcelle visit us (and their respective babies) so we have had a lovely relaxing afternoon and quite a few laughs.

Sherlock got cuddles today from our friends who were visiting so now perhaps he won't feel quite so left out :) Marcelle happened to ask me how I could tell Nancy Drew and Miss Marple apart and this is actually something we often get asked, not just of these 2, but also when we have Blacks in the home. To me, both girls are so very different, but then I spend an incredible amount of time with them so it does stand to reason that anyone who sees them once a month or so, would not know which girl was which. I have to say though that their personalities are pretty much identical, they are both little minxes. Morse is just one of a kind bless him, he's never really sure whether he is a Siamese or an Oriental. Some days he shows that stubborn streak that only the Blacks have, yet another days, like his sisters, he can be most obliging. I really do love watching their personalities develop as they mature. I can't quite believe though that they are 9 weeks old today and that really snuck up on me. With everything that has been going on I had not realised that they have now reached this stage of their lives. At some point I will have to look at having them vaccinated, mind you, I haven't even had the Nuts done yet and they are 10 weeks old now.
