Day 81 - June 29, 2006
Entries are going to be very spasmodic during the next week so if an entry doesn't go online for a few days, please don't panic or worry. The reason for this is that the moving van arrives this afternoon and the hard work really begins. From tomorrow onwards, some of us will be driving to the new home with a van load of boxes, while others remain here, feed the children and get the next load of boxes ready. If any of you have moved home, I am sure you will understand just how big an undertaking this is, particularly because of our fur children and the tropical fish. None of the babies are even interested in the fact that half of their familiar home is now totally turned upside down which is such a huge relief for me. They all just get on with their food, their games, and their sleep and it is great that they are not phased at all by the chaos. I'm hoping this bodes well for when they leave me to live with their new families. It's always so scary and the worry is so immense because when they leave here, for the first hour or so I find myself worrying about their journey to their new home, and then I worry about whether or not they are settling in and being fed properly and it really is so ridiculous when you think about it :( Still, they are all mine for at least another week :) There is very little in the way of photos, I just snapped a few after the baby's last meal as they were settling down, tummies fully, eyes sleepy, to have a kitten nap.

Day 80 - June 28, 2006

Still running extremely behind with diary entries but again, at least I managed to get a few photos.

Pepper is still our largest baby out of all the Condiments and she now weighs over a kilo which is really lovely. Vinegar is not far behind her and by Saturday he will have caught up with the kilo mark as well, and will no doubt pass it. Salt is much more feminine and dainty than her brother and sister and she is around the 850 gram mark right now which I am more than pleased with. It is no surprise though as all 3 of the Condiments have extremely good appetites. Vinegar had a bit of an accident this morning and managed to get himself soaking wet, however, it wasn't actually his fault this time around, it was mine. We were in the middle of transferring our massive Plec. to the tank in the back room because the large tank has to be cleared out today, ready to go to the new home in the next day or two where it can be set up. I carried the bucket over to the 2nd tank with Leo (the massive Plec.) in it as a bucket is the only thing big enough to hold him, but when I got to the 2nd tank, I managed to place the bucket over the tank but because of a rather bad injury to my ribs, I couldn't hold the bucket so it dropped partially into the tank, and a 1/4 of the tank water went out over the side at the same time. It was unfortunate I guess that Vinegar was on the floor at my feet and the poor guy ended up wearing a good majority of the water and was absolutely soaked. Had it been normal water, it might not have been so sad but fish tank water? Vinegar did not appreciate the bath, but at least it was warm water :)

Day 79 - June 27, 2006
Today is just turning into one of those days where we both wished that we had stayed in bed! A thought struck me this morning which concerns all of our babies and their new families. I was going to say that I have no idea how this has happened, but of course I know, it's happened because our minds are full of nothing other than trying to be in our new home within the next 2 weeks. As for what "it" is, well................................"it" is your babies' registration certificates and the problem is that somewhere, between packing and moving, it has totally slipped my mind to send off their registration papers! As we're planning on being the new home (hopefully) within 2 weeks, then I can't send them off now because they will come back here and we won't be here. I can't send them off with the new address because if something goes wrong and we don't end up there in 2 weeks then I still won't get them. What this basically means is that when you collect your babies, your transfer of ownership paper will not be available, so I have now amended the kitten sales agreements to state that as soon as I receive them back, they will be forwarded to you all in the post. Then, when the papers do come back, you will also be sent a new pedigree certificate showing your babies' registration number. I am just relieved that I didn't forget to vaccinate them also!!! On Monday of next week, your fur children will be having their last set of kitten vaccinations and their last health examination by our vet and naturally, having just looked at the calendar, I realised that I have made a note of the vet appointment but forgot to write down the time. I tell you, I will be very pleased once we have moved home and the chaos is over with! One bonus for today is at least I managed to get some photographs in the entry. Admittedly they are not great photos, nor are they particularly exciting photos, but at least you can actually see your children :)

Day 78 - June 26, 2006
I'm afraid to say that our Condiments are not in our daughters' good books at all today :( She and I had been packing boxes at the dining table, she was doing the normal ornaments, and I was packing (extremely carefully!) all of our Siamese cat ornaments. When she finished one shelf, Mo decided she would have a break and have some lunch. It was bad enough that due to the packing I was still doing, she only had about 3 inches of table space in front of her to eat off, so I guess it was even more unfortunate that when she decided to eat, the Condiments decided that they would have their first eve meal of baked beans on toast. I was honestly trying not to laugh as Mo had one mouthful of food and then all you heard was "Owwwwwwwwwww" because Salt and Vinegar were hanging onto her legs, digging their claws in, trying to get onto the table where her food was. As soon as she took them off, they climbed straight back up. Pepper was much smarter and went around the other end of the table, jumped up onto the chair, snuck around behind the boxes and had her nose in the plate while Mo was disentangling Vinegar from her leg. She did say to me that I should feed them as they would leave her alone then, however I had only fed them just 15 minutes prior to them getting in her way. Of course I could have put them in the back room for half and hour while she age, but then I wouldn't have had such a good laugh would I :)

Day 77 - June 25, 2006
Yet again, not really much of an entry at all, and again no photos I'm afraid. Our entire day has been spent packing even more boxes, sorting out the garage as well as packing the bedrooms so I've not really had a moment spare. You can no doubt guess that throughout all of our packing we have the constant interruptions in the form of 6 furry children who insist on "helping" us all to pack. No matter how many times I explained to them that if they weren't careful, they would find themselves taped up on the inside of the boxes, they paid no attention at all and continued to jump in the open cardboard boxes that we have been trying to pack. Then of course, as you remove the babies from the boxes, you obviously have to give them cuddles and have chats with them because they are so irresistible. Then before you know it, another 20 minutes has passed and you still haven't packed anything.
