Day 62 - November 1, 2007
I do not know what happened with today's photos of our Chefs! I took 30 photos, and the ones pictured below are the only ones that were actually worthwhile putting in the diary. Every other photo was horrendous. I keep meaning to try and find the time for individual photos of our babies but at the moment it's just impossible. We have another 3 babies leaving us between tomorrow and Sunday afternoon which means I'm quite busy with paperwork etc. Fortunately, our Chefs haven't been too destructive today, and I'm not too far behind at the moment, although it's only mid afternoon so that could easily change!

Day 61 - October 31, 2007
As our Chefs did not spend the night partying, unlike the Ray J's, this meant that today they have been creating havoc all day long so far. I keep hoping that the Chefs will grow out of the habit of wanting to help me with the hoovering and cleaning but it hasn't happened yet. Poor Antony has not had a very good day today. It was early morning and I was emptying the litter trays and bleaching them. I had just done emptied the first tray into a black bag, sat that bag on top of the other tray, went and bleached the first tray, took it back into the room and I had to laugh at the sight that greeted me. Here was Antony, sitting in the corner looking totally bewildered and he was covered in the contents of the black bag. Whilst I had been bleaching the other tray it appears that some of the babies thought it would be fun to drag the black bag off the top of the other tray and tip the used litter onto Antony. You have no idea what a mess he was in and it's safe to say that he was a much happier boy once mum had cleaned him off and made him look pretty again :)

Day 60 - October 30, 2007
Poor Heston did not get his photo taken today because he was curled up right in the middle of the tunnel on the scratch post and no matter what angle I positioned myself in, all I ended up with was shadows and a dark black blob. This does not do such a stunning baby any justice at all so I will have to wait until he comes out :) Our Chefs are little darlings and they have a fabulous mixture of both parents' type and I am very impressed with this litter. So much so in fact, that I will be repeating this mating at some point later on in 2008. They are happy, easy, confident babies and they aren't causing me any problems at all. Discounting of course the fact that Gary still continues to "help" me with the hoovering on a daily basis, and the fact that when I am hoovering, if James is asleep on the floor, she will not move out of the way. Our Chefs are not phased by the hoover at all and they do totally refuse to move once I am hoovering and I have to actually hoover around them. You will be pleased to know however that none of their tails of limbs have been sucked up by the hoover :)

Day 59 - October 29, 2007
Our Chefs continue to be absolutely everywhere that I look and oh boy can they move at incredible speeds. All 6 Chefs have the very bad habit of running downstairs when it is their meal times and this means that I am then trying to walk up the stairs with a massive tray of food, whilst trying not to step on any of the Chefs who get under my feet. Mealtimes in this home require tactical operation and planning :) Entries are short today as we had a very busy day and 2 more of our babies left home.

Day 58 - October 28, 2007

As mentioned in the last entry, I would be having a problem getting diary entries online, mainly due to the fact that we were showing this weekend, we had babies leaving and a whole load of other stuff going on so entries were a total impossibility. Tomorrow is also going to be a very hectic day but as of Tuesday, the kitten diaries will be back to normal so please do bear with me until that time.

I really can not believe that our Chefs are 8 weeks old already and despite having had their daily routine upset during the last few days, they have taken everything in their stride and they are happy just to get on with life, create chaos and demand attention. At the moment I couldn't say that one of our Chefs is more mischievous than the others because they are at that age where every single baby creates havoc at least once a day but I wouldn't have them any other way. They are very typical Ashanti children. Heston's progress continues to please me and I am really quite happy with him. Once he has had his first vaccination and been seen by our own vet, we will then look at making a decision as to what his future actually holds. There is no rush though :) Actually, upon reflection, Gary is quite possibly the most mischievous child in this litter. Normally it is the Orientals who are more naughty but Gary is an exception to this rule. He is the one baby who is always there, no matter where I look or turn.
