Day 20 - September 20, 2007
Today's entries are really photos only because as mentioned yesterday 2 of our babies left us today, and time has really gotten away from me this afternoon. Possibly tomorrow we will be back to normal, who knows :)

Day 19 - September 19, 2007
Yet again I'm afraid there are no entries for today. I have an awful flu and am having a really off day. We also have 2 babies leaving us tomorrow, so in between sneezing and cleaning, I have had mountains of paperwork to get through.

Day 18 - September 18, 2007
Right, I am going to confirm Jamie's colour once and for all, particularly as this has been such a bone of contention. I will now admit to being totally wrong...............yet again :) Despite feeling that Jamie didn't have a vibrant enough rich colour to be Cinnamon, there was something bugging me about the fact that she may have been fawn. Something just didn't feel quite right. This morning, whilst I was putting the chicken on for the cat's dinner, that "something" occurred to me. There is no way on earth that Jamie can be Fawn and the reason for this is that her mother, Sambuca, does not carry dilute. In all the litters Sami has previously produced when mated to dilute cats, not once, has she ever produced a dilute baby, we have only ever had the dominant colours (Seal/Chocolate) from her. So with that in mind, and as Fawn is a dilute colour, it is impossible for Jamie to be Fawn. She must be a Cinnamon Oriental Classic Tabby. And let me tell you something else.........I am NOT changing my mind now, that is what she is and that is what she will be registered as. The only problem now is to think of another liqueur pet name for her :) Heston didn't have a great night last night with regards to her weights, however, by the time I did the 24 hour weigh in session at around 1pm, she had picked up again and was back on track so I am relieved. As to why I ended up with so many darn photos in this kitten diary today, I really do not know.

Day 17 - September 17, 2007

We would like to begin this diary entry by congratulating Caryll and ray on Kyla's great results at her show on the 15th.

We have some extremely exciting news regarding our Chefs..................as you know, Jamie is a Classic Tabby but I did also want to have this confirmed by someone else. Yesterday afternoon, our very good friends, Teen & Tone of Maroochydore Siamese & Orientals came for a visit. It was fantastic to see them both again as it has been absolute ages and as expected, Teen and I spent some time upstairs with the babies. Tone had also very kindly made me some window screens for the 2nd kitten room. Naturally they fit perfectly and Tone did an amazing job, thanks ever so much mate, you're a star :) Well it turns out that not only is Jamie a definite Classic Tabby, but she is not Cinnamon, she is Fawn, and the best news of all is that Jamie is in fact, a female. Of course this does mean that Jamie will be not be going anywhere at all as she will play an integral part in our Oriental breeding program. We can not say just how thrilled we are about this and it does mean we can look forward to some very, very, exciting plans for our Oriental tabbies. I'm not sure who was more excited though, myself or Teen :) The rest of our Chefs are all doing extremely well and Gary Rhodes put on a good performance for Teen and I yesterday by showing us how clever he was by lying on his back and clapping his little paws together. We could have sat there for ages just watching the babies as they really are so incredibly delightful.

Day 15 - September 15, 2007

Prior to beginning today's entries, I would like to warn you all that there will be no kitten diaries tomorrow. I have a very full on day tomorrow with one baby leaving, I have something else on, and then we have friends visiting so I will not have a spare moment.

The next saga in the lives of our Chefs is one that excites me tremendously. Our darling little Jamie, is in fact, a Cinnamon Classic Tabby Oriental!! I have been watching him very closely for the past week as his pattern has not been like that of our Spotted Ray J's. Today, the reason for this is very apparent. He is not a Spotted, he is a Classic, just like his father. As you can imagine I am totally thrilled to bits about this. So now, if the Sex Change Fairy were to pay me a visit and turn Jamie into a girl, then I would be totally over the moon. Of course, I couldn't be that lucky and to have bred another Classic should be enough to satisfy me. Our Chefs are all doing very well, even little Heston continues to gain each day so life is possibly starting to improve.

Day 14 - September 14, 2007

We'd like to start off today's kitten diaries by congratulating Julie of Lorimnailie Siamese & Orientals on the birth of her new kittens, sired by our own Ashanti.

There really are no entries today as my day has not gone according to plan at all. In fact, I've ended up being very behind with absolutely everything and had no hope at all in doing kitten diaries.
