Day 90 - November 29, 2007

I totally gave up on trying to get photos of our older babies, and as they will be in the throes of leaving home within the next 24 hours I don't think it's going to really make a huge amount of difference to be honest.

Both Gary and James still continue to run into the rooms that they are not supposed to be in. I felt so sorry for James earlier today because I was taking one of the meals into Drambuie and her children and James saw me with food, automatically presumed it was his, and he ran in there and could not understand why I took him out of the room. To say I felt very guilty is an understatement. At this age, our Ray J's and Chefs are now on 2-3 wet commercial/home cooked foods per day. They have access to their JW kitten biscuits day and night but it still is horrid to see the looks on their little faces as they watch me feeding the Indians up to 6 meals per day.

Day 89 - November 28, 2007

We've still not had our registration certificates back for the Ray J's or Chefs so I am hoping they will be here by Friday morning at the latest. As it stands at the moment, I can't even do any paperwork for any of the babies who will be leaving this weekend as I need the registration number for each baby.

James has decided that downstairs is most certainly not the place to be and it's not uncommon for me to walk upstairs throughout the day and find him curled up in the corner on his own bless him. He's not the only one though because the rest of our Chefs seem to take turns in sleeping upstairs. But why on earth they all wait until late evening and go up there for a snooze right outside the bedroom door is beyond me. It really makes it very difficult to get in and out of the room. Unfortunately they can't come into the bedroom as we have our Monkeys in there and they are only 2 weeks old. This doesn't stop them trying though and Gary is the worst offender. He seems to believe that if I open a door, he is entitled to go into that room with me.

Day 88 - November 27, 2007
How Heston does not have a complex is totally beyond me because even now, our kitten family visits, as well as myself, refer to her a "he" when she is in fact a girl. She started off life as a boy and then hey presto at a much later age turned into a young lady. The problem is that none of us ever seem to remember this. Fortunately at the moment it doesn't appear to affect her and she doesn't look offended when people call her a boy. She and Gordon are the only babies who will not be leaving home with everyone else, mainly because no one wants them at the moment. We have had some inquiries which have not been suitable, so I guess they will hang around here with our gang until the "right" families come along.

Day 87 - November 26, 2007

After a manic few days of rearranging our home and the way we live, and converting one of the kitten rooms to "indoor stud accommodation", I am finally getting diaries back on track. Although this is going to be a manic week as we have a few babies leaving us from Friday onwards so I will be up to my eyeballs in paperwork so don't expect great diary entries this week. By the end of this coming weekend, I'll be down to just 2 kitten diaries so life may become a tad easier.

There are no Ray J or Chef photos today because I very stupidly deleted all the photos once I had downloaded them and despite spending an hour trawling through my recycle bin, I still can't find them so I am absolutely furious with myself. There will definitely be photos in tomorrow's kitten diary!! Our Ray J's and Chefs no longer have their own kitten room as they were evicted a couple of days ago so that Drambuie and the Indians could move in there. I'm very pleased with how well they accepted the changes, although a few of the babies still continue to go upstairs to sleep, but they all know that food/litter etc. is all downstairs now and I am thrilled that despite being so very young none of them have had any little "accidents" since the changes. It was the one thing that I was concerned about because often little babies will forget where their trays are and now that there are none upstairs, everyone has to come down to use the trays but they have all been wonderful :)

Our Chefs are doing very well and Heston is now the same size as Antony so she is one of my "success stories" bless her. Despite their age, they continue to let themselves be herded around by both Amaretto and Amarula as both ladies have adopted the Chefs and it's not unusual to see one of the Chefs running through the home, being chased by Amarula who is trying to make the baby go wherever it is she wants them to be. Surprisingly, the Chefs tend to listen to Amarula. I must find out her secret because none of them listen to me.
