Day 76 - july 18, 2007

Again today, all entries are not particularly long and there are not too many photos. The reason for this is that we have a vet appointment today for one of our due ladies to have an ultrasound as she is due in a couple of days' time and we can not feel any movement at all. So that will be a double appointment for the scan, then we are also taking Amarula to the vets with us as we are still not happy at all with her condition and we need something to be sorted out asap. So between, and a few bits and pieces of running around, then it's going to be a busy day.

Further to this..........I was planning on taking photos for our remaining 3 diaries when we returned from the vet, however, we were quite a while at the vet, and when we came home, we very hurriedly had to make some massive changes with regards to Amarula and as a result, I just totally ran out of time so I will make sure there are photos in tomorrow's kitten diary entries.

As it stands at the moment, I have typed out 3 of the 5 kitten diary entries, and I am going to go upstairs and feed because if I have to listen to Ashanti calling for women just one second longer I am going to go insane! All morning he has been looking for someone to bonk, not that there is anyone calling, apart from Drambuie and she is being kept well away from him. It really does break your concentration, so I shall go and feed the little children, and hopefully when I come back downstairs he will have shut up or gone to sleep. Ice Maiden and Snow Queen have been in one of their very active moods today bless them and they have spent quite a bit of time playing chase throughout my room here downstairs and the cat run. My one saving grace is the fact that none of them have yet figured out that they can climb up onto my desk which is just as well or I would get even less work done now than I'm currently getting done. Little Tuk and Ugly Duckling spent hours every single evening out in the cat run because when I am in the 2nd kitten room upstairs, if I look out the window of a night time I see both Black fur kids, as well as Liquorice, hooning around in the run. Our Tails of Hans Christian Anderson love the fact that they have no constraints at all now as to where they go and what they do and I must say that I like nothing more than when the babies have full freedom of the home.

Day 75 - july 17, 2007
I was very proud of Ugly Duckling yesterday because unlike his sister, Little Tuk, when his new mum and dad, Connie and David visited him yesterday, he was beautifully behaved. He was more than happy to be cuddled by his mum and dad, he didn't really object to having his photograph taken, and he even showed them what a good boy he was by eating his dinner. All 3 of us agreed that he really is a gorgeous looking boy with such beautiful Oriental eyes that are turning greener by the day. Sambuca really has given us 4 lovely fur children, which I know I keep saying, but as each day passes, the Tails of Hans Christian Anderson become more beautiful. They all have such very expressive eyes, and such wonderful personalities. If it wasn't for the fact that we do have other, younger babies in the home, then I would want to keep Sami's children here with us longer as they are such a pleasure to have in the home. Even when they are being naughty. Snow Queen gave me a fright yesterday because I was heading up the stairs with another milk mixture to feed the 2 smaller children, and as I approached the top of the stairs, here was Snow queen up on the stair banister, balancing as she walked along. I tell you, I couldn't remove her fast enough! I always worry about this, and now that the babies are older, they are not confined to their kitten room at all now. So all day and night, the babies can either meander around upstairs, or they can come downstairs through the little kitten door and spend time in the cat run or with the "big people" during the night. For me this is perfectly fine, but not so much for poor Graham because the babies want to play loud, thumping games at around 5am and they are constantly waking him up.

Day 74 - july 16, 2007
I had very good intentions of getting diary entries online yesterday, however, problems with my computer put paid to that! I had no connection so that was a nightmare, but if that wasn't bad enough, my monitor(s) also died. Today, genius husband solved the problem for me so I'm back on track for the time being.

Day 73 - july 15, 2007
I am certain that when you look at today's individual photos you will have to agree that our Tails of Hans Christian Anderson are all rather good looking children :) I am so delighted with how well they have turned out, particularly Ice Maiden who will be gracing the show bench at some point in time. But looks aside, they are such happy, playful children who are growing at a very rapid rate. I am still finding that Little Tuk and Ugly Duckling both have very similar personalities, whereas Ice Maiden and Snow Queen both have very similar personalities. The difference between the Siamese girls and the Oriental children is that the Siamese babies are actually better behaved than the Oriental babies and the Siamese girls are soooooooooooooooooo much more calmer. This isn't to say that they aren't mischievous because they certainly do have their moments in typical Siamese fashion, but on the whole, they are very much more chilled out. Tomorrow, Ugly Duckling's mum will be coming to visit him. I'm really looking forward to seeing Connie again and I think she will be surprised at just how large her little man actually is.

Day 72 - july 14, 2007
Again today, there are no entries or photos because for the first time since Amarula's babies were born, we actually took some "time out" for ourselves and we went out to visit family during the afternoon. We were gone about 5 hours in total which is the longest we've been able to be away from the babies. It was nice to actually go out for a little while, and all the babies appeared to behave themselves during our absence. Tomorrow's diaries will resume as per normal with individual photos in each diary.

Day 71 - july 13, 2007
At ten weeks of age, our Tails of Hans Christian Anderson are progressing exactly as they should and I have no worries with any of them at all. Little Tuk was in one of her typical "Oriental Black" moods today. Normally this is never a problem but of course she had to choose to have this mood on the day that her lovely mum was here visiting her. Now last time Coral visited, Little Tuk was more than happy to be loved by her new mum. But not today, no, at one point in fact, she was so "put out" by her mum wanting some cuddles, that she jumped off Coral's lap, and then sat on the floor with her back to her. Honestly, I can not believe how rude our little madam was today. It wasn't until right at the very end of the visit that Little Tuk was prepared to actually makes some eye contact with her mum, as opposed to ignoring her (and me for that matter!) for most of the visit. Some children are just so ungrateful aren't they. I have told her over and over again what a fantastic home she will be going to and what a brilliant mum she has waiting for her and does she appreciate it? Not one iota. It is just as well that Coral knows the breed so incredibly well, and like myself, Coral appreciates the stubbornness and the aloofness that Blacks can sometimes display, particularly the females. Her brother on the other hand, was more than happy to run around and play some games and behave like the mischievous little boy that he is. On Monday, his mummy will be coming to visit him and I think he is really looking forward to that.
Day 70 - july 12, 2007
Many apologies but there is no entry at all for today as it's just been manic here and I've not had a chance to get any entries online.
