May 22, 2005 - Day 48
There's no photos today as I forgot to charge the camera batteries and the spare batteries are being used for something else at the moment. Mind you, the babies have not sat still long enough all day for me to be able to take a decent photo anyway. They have been running riot throughout the house and the cat run, being chased by Tia Maria who is screaming at the babies and constantly trying to shepherd them back to their beds. Poor Mars (who I am still struggling to remember that he is now a she) had a bit of a rough time because Athos kept picking on her. She would chase her through the room, obviously catching her as she is so much larger, and she would then pin her down and start to nip her. Mars however, is quite fast, a real little "zoom baby" and she scooted under the office chair legs and was darting in and out of them too quickly for Athos to catch her. She did get her own back but unfortunately it was the wrong baby. D'Artagnan was innocently walking past and Mars leant over the chair leg and bit her on the ear (obviously thinking is was her tormentor, Athos. Despite the cool weather we've had, the Planets have been in and out of the cat run today having fun and games. As I write this entry, things are starting to calm down a bit and some babies are starting to fall asleep and I have Jupiter and Saturn sound asleep on my chair behind me.

May 21, 2005 - Day 47
Just like the Musketeers, the Planets had some fun out in the cat run today for a while before lunch as the weather has not been too bad. They've also been creating havoc here in the back room and have been tearing throughout the lounge area as well. All of our Planets have also now discovered the large bay window in the lounge room and have been having a great time, strutting up and down the windowsill as if they were on a cat walk, showing their beauty to anyone who happened to be passing by. Of course it's just as well no one did actually walk past and spot them because they would have laughed if they had seen Jupiter fall off in a most unladylike fashion :) Still, undeterred, she scrambled right back up and tried again and managed to walk the whole length of the windowsill this time.

May 20 , 2005 - Day 46
There is not much in the way of photos today as I will be in and out today and have quite a bit to get through. I am looking forward to the weekend where I don't have to do anything at all really :) The Planets no longer sleep on their bed during the night now (at least that's what I'm presuming) because when I come downstairs now first thing in the morning, they are all sound asleep on one of the office chairs. Even during the day, they now prefer the chair to their bed on the floor. What does surprise me about this is that their beds are all situated on the floor near the radiator and we've had such cold weather lately so obviously the heating has been on, but they are still sleeping on the chair which is on the other side of the room to the radiator. Poor Venus was carted from one end of the room to the other this morning until I managed to rescue her finally.............from Tia Maria's mouth! As Tia Maria is still calling like mad, she is acting rather oddly which is typical of one of our queen's in call. An interesting news item here regarding the Planets.............Mars is a girl! Not a boy! I only discovered this when Gemma (see today's entry in the Musketeers diary) was visiting today and asked me what sex Mars was. I picked her up only to then turn around and say that "He is a girl!". Mind you, I had my suspicions last time I looked at her, which was a while ago but wasn't really that bothered one way or the other and hadn't looked again since last time. I can now confirm though that she is definitely a female :)

May 19, 2005 - Day 45
As you can see by some of the photos below, they Planets were again showing an interest in going outside. Unfortunately though, this did not last long because our sunshine and nice weather soon disappeared! Still, they made up for their lack of being outside by playing with each other in the lounge room instead. I must admit that when they are in the lounge area, that is when they are really are the biggest "time wasters" because they are just so funny to watch as they climb everywhere and hide and pounce on each other that I really do just stand there watching them for ages (and getting nothing else done). Venus is now catching back up to Neptune's weight again and is only behind her by 4 grams so I'll be interested to see whether or not she does pass her again. As I'm writing this entry, Jupiter is at the other end of the work surface, climbing all over a keyboard and being jumped on at the same time by Aramis so they are all having quite a lot of fun today.

May 18, 2005 - Day 44
Fortunately, today (so far) has gone with no problems at all with regards to water bowls or anything else. This could be because the babies have also spent quite a bit of time today exploring the rest of the house rather than destroying the back room. I was amazed this morning to find Mars up on the lounge as he had not been there before. Tia Maria was sound asleep on there and a couple of Musketeers and Mars were feeding from her. Although, if I were to really think about it, Mars can reach everywhere that the other babies can anyway and he's actually quite an agile climber, much more so than Saturn who at this stage of his life can tend to be slightly clumsy. The Planets all now have little spells where they go out into the cat run which is quite lovely to see. They started this yesterday morning and ironically, they didn't want for the Musketeers to go out first, they just saw the open door, and went straight to it and started to jump down the steps.

May 17, 2005 - Day 43
I had full intentions of getting a diary online yesterday but it was just so very busy here, particularly with our lawn mower saga which I'm happy to say has now been resolved. By the time I finally had the time to sit down and do an entry, it was already dinner time. Mind you, Jupiter is probably thinking that if I didn't complete an entry for yesterday then no one would have learnt about her embarrassing moment which did make us laugh. Yesterday morning the babies were running around all over the place, trying their best to scare each other by jumping on top of whichever baby was closest to them. Jupiter, in all her wisdom, crouched down on the bed, right in front of the massive water bowl, and prepared to take that flying leap to land on D'Artagnan, however she totally misjudged (or perhaps didn't even see the bowl) the distance, sprang up into the air, straight down into the bowl. Her entire body was soaked. I ran quickly to grab a towel and she sat very calmly in my lap while I dried her off and I then put her back on the floor where she continued to play her games. After that incident however, she kept her antics to other parts of the room and nowhere near the bed.

May 16, 2005 - Day 42 (6 weeks old today!)
It's hard to believe that our Planets have reached 6 weeks of age. They are all changing daily now and are growing up so fast. I am sure that if they had been a litter just on their own, they would not be quite as advanced because as the Musketeers are one week older, the Planets follow everything that the Musketeers do and they don't let the age gap make any difference at all. Jupiter was very daring this morning because the door has been opened back up again so the babies have the run of the house and Sambuca was trying to prevent them from leaving the back room. She went to grab Jupiter (who knew what was going to happen), and Jupiter smacked her mum in the mouth and ran straight under the dining table and when her mum ran after her, she then went under the TV unit knowing full well that Sambuca wouldn't fit. It did make me smile. They are all now getting to that stage where they will defy either of the "mums" because being typical children, they think they know better.
