Day 19 - February 13, 2008

You will have noticed that there was no diary entry yesterday. The reason for this is that we spent the majority of the day moving around everything in the back room and then our friends visited us in the afternoon. Today's diaries are also quite short with no photos because we have an awful lot to get through this week and we have kitten families visiting as well so between now and Sunday my time is rather limited.

Our girls are doing quite well today although for the past 24 hours they have become extremely vocal in their attempts to try and escape from the posh box. They are not large enough yet to actually be able to climb right up to the ramp opening and over it but they sure as heck give it a good try! Even now, at such a very young age, both babies are starting to show such determination and strength of character. This has definitely been passed onto them by their father as Ashanti has a very determined streak and he is a very proud and intelligent boy. Of course it does mean that when our Tarts have total house freedom they will create utter havoc and chaos but that is to be expected :)

Day 17 - February 11, 2008
You can possibly tell by today's photos that Jam is intent on getting out of the box and escaping so that she can go and explore the room. When I was changing the bedding today and had the ramp down so I could take photos, I had to keep picking Jam back up to put her back in the box. As soon as I placed her in the box, she was off halfway down the ramp before I could stop her. It's actually nothing short of a miracle that I was able to take any photos of her at all! Her sister, Treacle, is such a very GOOD little baby in comparison and of course, both babies are incredibly beautiful as I'm sure you will agree :)

Day 16 - February 10, 2008

There were no kitten diaries yesterday and today's are all quite short with no photos due to lack of time. We had some kitten families here yesterday visiting our older babies and today has been spent cleaning as per usual and looking after cats and kittens. There will be photos again tomorrow as per normal though. I also spent a few hours today registering 4 out of our 5 new mummies with TICA (Nocello is already TICA registered), as well as registering our Monkeys' litter with TICA and this was really time consuming.

The Tarts are still doing very well and I think that I will give them the new name of "Double Trouble" because I know that is what they will be in a week's time or two. They are both very adorable though and I know that any mischief making will easily be forgiven because they have those little faces that are just totally irresistible.

Day 14 - February 8, 2008

Today, our Tarts are 2 weeks of age so I will start by sharing their current weights with you:

Name
Baby
Current Weight
Weekly Gain
Jam
Brown Oriental Spotted Tabby female
218 grams
68 grams
Treacle
Oriental Black female
249 grams
77 grams

I had a whisper in Jam's ear today to tell her that she may have a very special homed lined up for her with lovely, wonderful mummy, and that she would have some big paw prints to fill if she's to become a future breed/show queen. Of course, she replied by telling me that she is only 2 weeks old and has no intention of worrying about her future for a very long time yet. Of course, she is right :) Both our Tarts are not backwards in coming forwards where the milk bar is concerned, and whilst their weights are on part with that of the Airports, they will shove the Airports out of the way when it is feeding time. I have no doubts at all that as these 2 children grow up they will be able to hold their own will be confident babies.
