Day 13 - February 7, 2008
Neither of our Tarts objected this morning when I took them out of their posh box and put them on the top for their photography session although Jam flat out refused to look at the camera. Every time I turned her around, she managed to move her head and turn the other way before I could take the photo. Treacle, on the other hand, was more than obliging when it came to looking at the camera. They are both such very sweet little children and they will be 2 weeks old tomorrow so I must really try to remember to share their weights with you so we can all see just how they are progressing.

Day 12 - February 6, 2008

Again we have videos today instead of photos but for anyone who saw yesterday's videos then I am sure you will agree that I obviously need a heck of a lot of practice! I have never seen such bad filming in all of my life, so I thought I would try again today and see if I can improve on yesterday's works of art ;) In fact the video's for the Archangels and the 80's Group are quite clear. Also, you can actually see little faces for the Tarts and the Airports little faces although their bodies still look like blobs. As for the Hotels, well, you can see a tail that actually looks like a tail and that is the extent of it. Entries themselves though are fairly short today as I have an awful lot planned for today.

Just like our Airports, the Tarts are really starting to become a little bit more aware of their surroundings and both litters are incredibly close in that when they are sleeping in the box if their mum's are having a bit of a break, all 5 babies will sleep together, on top of each other, and touching each other. I do love it when litters are so very close like this. Jam and Treacle are both very content little babies who want nothing more from life other than to feed and sleep and I am rather relieved to see that neither baby is showing any signs at all of developing their mothers' wicked personality and hopefully it will stay this way :)

Day 11 - February 5, 2008

Instead of photos in today's kitten diaries, we have............................................................kitten video's :) :) Now, despite Julie telling me I am a "show off" lol the reason for the video's is very simple. When I do photos for the kitten diaries, it takes me a minimum of 2 hours per day just to sort out the photos and get them in the diaries but with the video clips, it is over and done with extremely quickly and saves me such a tremendous amount of time. I won't be doing away with the photos altogether, but will probably do alternate days i.e. photos one day, video's the next day. These video's have been done with Graham's camera which he bought a couple of months ago and we are both very impressed with the quality. I don't know how well today's movies will turn out though as I've never done them before so it will be trial and error but hopefully they will work out okay............

I have to say that Nocello has really outdone herself and has exceeded our wildest dreams when it comes to motherhood. Even now, I think back to the first 10 weeks or so of her life when we both though, as our vet did, that Cells would die and no one was more surprised than us when she grew into a perfectly normal cat. It was always a risk letting her have a honeymoon in the respect that while there is nothing physically wrong with her at all, due to her own start in life, we didn't know what would happen. Well Nocello is positively blooming and she is looking fantastic. She is also being the perfect mum, just like her own mother, Drambuie is. Nocello has not lost any condition since giving birth and I quite often see Amaretto sitting on top of their posh box having a break while Nocello is in the box feeding all 5 babies and looking very pleased with herself. Her little Tarts continue to thrive and are doing very well.

In all honesty the video's are not great to say the least, especially with the Oriental babies as you can hardly see anything. As I said though, this is trial and error and I now realise that I will have to take the lids of the posh boxes to let more light in, prior to filming. We also are struggling with converting the files as they are quite large, so until we have sorted that out, I will upload the videos to Youtube as that seems to be the quickest way of sorting them out at the moment.

Day 10 - February 4, 2008

Again today, all kitten diaries are extremely short with not photos sorry. I had the very best of intentions in that my plan was to be up quite early, get all the normal cleaning/cat chores done, take some photos of the babies, and update all the diaries. What I was not counting on was being woken at 0430 this morning as one of our ladies went into labour. Naturally this means that have been up at such a very early time of morning and playing "midwife", my day's plans had totally gone out the window. At the moment it is 1337 and all I have done so far today is monitor mum and new babies, thoroughly clean the kitten room, the upstairs landing, and the boys room, move new mum and babies into the kitten room, do the litter trays and countless loads of washing. I still have not started on the downstairs part of the home yet!

Treacle and Jam can now see the world as their little eyes have opened up fully now and they are very adorable little babies. I typed Tia Lusso's diary entry prior to doing this one and I obviously spoke too soon! I just popped up to the kitten room to check all was well and the mummies and babies were all okay and as I peered in Tia Lusso's box I noticed she had an extra child in there...............................it was Jam! Obviously Lucy's baby stealing days are not quite over yet. I picked Jam up and put her back in the posh box with her sister and with the Airports but to be honest, I don't think she even realised she wasn't with the right mummy.

Day 7 - February 1, 2008

Unfortunately today's diary entries are extremely short and there are no photos at all. The reason for this is that it's been a very hectic day and I also have a double vet appointment booked this afternoon so I will be gone for quite a while I think. We do have kitten families visiting all weekend to see our older babies, but I am hopeful to get photos online tomorrow as per normal.

It's hard to believe that already our Tarts are a week old and it has been one hell of a week since Nocello first went into labour but everything seems to be going extremely well now and both Tarts are doing just fine. I have just stared at this page for half an hour now wondering what to write. Yes I am severely lacking motivation again today <sigh>. Both Jam and Treacle are opening their eyes up fully now and they are starting to become that little bit more active when it comes to crawling around the box.
