Day 65 - December 20, 2007

The first thing I have to say is to please ignore the state of the kitten room in today's photos. I actually took the camera into the room first thing this morning to take photos because I knew if I left it until after I had fed everyone and done the cleaning and cat chores that I never would have taken any. If nothing else, it will give you an indication of just how messy these little babies can actually be :) In actual fact, it is nothing short of a miracle that there are even diaries (short ones admittedly) with photos online today. I will be pleased when Christmas is over and life is not so hectic.

There is no way on earth that we will have our Indians vaccinated before Christmas. It is just not feasible unfortunately. This does mean that they will not be leaving home until after January 20 but as soon as I have a definite date I will put it in the kitten diary. In a way, I'm not particularly bothered by this as we do still have to register them and I have been told that it will take approximately 6 weeks for their registrations to come through.

The Indians will be our first ever TICA registered litter and I'm quite excited about this as for us personally, there are so many more benefits to registering a litter with TICA as opposed to the GCCF who we used to register our babies with. Our prefix has now been accepted by TICA and we had confirmation of this earlier in the week so we are over the moon. We are still waiting for the registration of our own cats with TICA to come back through but they have been received by their office which means we can definitely look at registering our Indians as soon as Christmas is out of the way.

Drambuie's children are doing quite well and are becoming more beautiful as each week passes and they are now coming down the stairs more regularly although at the moment they are still not spending too long downstairs. Our adult cat family and older babies who are in the home are also spending quite a bit of time in the kitten room so our Indians are well and truly used to our cat family by now. Ice, who is one of our neuter boys and the Indians/Monkey's Great Grandfather, has been doing his family duty and making sure the babies are all clean by giving them thorough baths, whether they want it or not.

Day 63 - December 19, 2007

Many apologies for the lack of diary entries. In actual fact, we have almost skipped an entire week. Most of you can probably appreciate that it is one of the busiest times of year for all of us and as such, I've just not had a spare moment to get any diaries online. I am hoping that tomorrow I can actually get a relatively normal entry complete with photos online.

The babies are all doing well, the kitten room door is left open permanently now. The only time it is closed is during feeding times so that our adults do not go in and eat all the kitten food. I know that I should be making plans to vaccinate our Indians, but as this is right on Christmas, I'm not entirely sure whether or not they will be done this side of Christmas.
