Kitten Diaries
Drambuie
September 2006
Drambuie's 3rd Kitten Diary - September 2006 to December 2006
Day 55 - November 11, 2006

They are not long entries today as we had a visit from a possible new kitten family so by the time I start these entries it's quite late in the afternoon. Before I go any further though, I must say a huge Congratulations to May of Mazpahs Siamese & Orientals for a wonderful show result today with Schimmel Mazpahs Castana.

Our Gamblers are really loving their new environment and when they are awake, they just tear throughout the whole room, chasing each other. They also really appreciate the lovely warm fire that is in there and when it's nap time (which happens quite a lot), they all sprawl out in front of the fire soaking up the warmth as you can see by the photos below.

Day 54 - November 10, 2006

There's not many photos in any of today's kitten diaries as I'm rather behind today although goodness knows why! But as I've been on such a roll and have been managing to get photos in every day again, I figured better to put in a few than none at all.

For those of you who are observant, you will have realised by the photos below that the Gamblers have now been relocated to the downstairs part of the home. Today was their first day of being down in Graham's room and they have remained there all day. When it comes time for dinner tonight, I will move them all back upstairs. All of the Gamblers took to their new room extremely well and spent the first couple of hours exploring, chasing each other around the room, and climbing on all of the furniture. In general, they have had the time of their lives. Even little Two Up and Blackjack were like little tornadoes as they zoomed around the room. I had been concerned as those 2 babies are still so incredibly tiny and was worried how they would cope having much more freedom, yet they have taken it in their stride bless them. I am wondering though, how long it will be before all the babies gain more confidence and start climbing all over Graham's desk and keyboard :)

Day 53 - November 9, 2006
Each morning, I look at the Gamblers and wonder if today is the day that I will bring them downstairs, and so far, no day has been "right". However, they will soon be 8 weeks of age and they had better be downstairs by then. I don't know why I keep putting it off actually as there is no valid reason whatsoever why they should be down in Graham's room during the day. The idea is that by 10 weeks of age, just like the Burps, they are they moved permanently into the back room with our adult cats where they will then have join in with the rest of the feline family but if I don't move them down soon, it will never happen. They all seem so very content being upstairs and running about up there, playing games but it really is time they were given more space and Drambuie could probably do with the break as well actually.

Day 52 - November 8, 2006
Our Gamblers are at that stage where very little is changing in their lives on a daily basis and they do all have a routine now which consists of eating, sleeping, chatting, playing, and wrestling (not necessarily in that order either). Their eating habits have changed slightly though in the respect that up until yesterday, the babies were fed every few hours, without fail, never missing an hour but now it's different. Two Up and Blackjack actually come down the stairs to tell me when it's time to be fed and when they are awake. More often than not, I will be sitting here at the computer in the afternoon and I hear a little cry or two from the stairs and when I go and look, it's those 2 babies at the bottom of the stairs tell me it's time to feed them which I think is very sweet :) Today's photos are rather boring sorry, but better that than no photos at all :) I'm actually feeling rather proud of myself because for the first time in ages, I've managed to get 2 normal kitten diary entries online, complete with photos.

Day 51 - November 7, 2006
I think that the time has come for our Gamblers to be moved downstairs into Graham's room during the day time. They have become increasingly active in the upstairs part of the home so it really is time for them to come downstairs during the day where they will have much more room to run about and they can get to know our dogs and our other cats as well. To say nothing of the fact that they are creating havoc in the upstairs part of the house and leave a mess wherever they have been. Baccarat appears to be growing at a rather rapid rate now and I think she will actually be taller, and quite possibly, longer, than Roulette and a couple of weeks' ago I would not have said that would be a possibility. Out of the our 3 Black fur children, she is the one who is the biggest terror at the moment and if there is trouble to be had, or mischief to get into, rest assured she is one of the first there.

Day 50 - November 6, 2006

You will no doubt have noticed we have skipped a few entries yet again. At the moment, I barely have time to eat or sleep, let alone write the kitten diaries. Friday through to Saturday was immensely hectic as we had visitors each day and a couple of our old babies left us so it has been absolutely manic and I can not seem to find the time to catch with the entries. So yet again, this is a new week and it should (hopefully) be a fairly quiet week in the respect that we have no one due to visit so I am working like mad to try and catch up so that hopefully tomorrow's entries can have photos in them as per normal.

Our Gamblers have now been evicted from the kitten room as the Trotters needed to move in there. I didn't want to bring them downstairs with the Burps, even though the Gamblers and Burps have been living together, because whilst Baccarat, Roulette, Poker, would be fine down here, I still feel that Two Up and Blackjack would find it a bit difficult because of their size. Yes, you guessed it, I am still struggling with 2 of our Black fur children with regards to size, although they are both quite lively, they eat well and manage to run up and down the stairs. Roulette had a visit from her new mum on the weekend and I was rather embarrassed to see that at first she wanted nothing to do with her new mum, to the point where she was quite rude to her. In the end though, Teen managed to have some cuddles with her rather naughty tortie. It's difficult to believe that our Gamblers are 7 weeks old now because the time really is flying by rather quickly.
