Day 46 - November 2, 2006

Entries are not particularly long today as one of our older fur children is leaving home to live with her new family so it's been a very busy day as you can imagine. I'm also slowly losing the motivation to do any entries because I have had quite a few other bits and pieces to get through as well and time is just getting away from me yet again.

I do love this time of afternoon...............there's not a sound to be heard from the kitten room because just like the Burps, all of our Gamblers are fast asleep. After the havoc they have created all morning long, it's rather nice to have a bit of peace and quiet. Of course every time I go up and down the stairs though, I have to creep really slowly because if the Black fur children hear me upstairs, they wake up straight away and start screaming at me to feed them yet again. It's actually gotten so bad that of an evening, after the babies have had one of their dinners, when the rest of the human family is upstairs, I won't even have a normal conversation with them. Instead, I whisper just so that Two Up, Baccarat and Blackjack don't know I am in the same vicinity as them.

Day 45 - November 1, 2006

Looking at Baccarat, I can definitely say she is catching up to her brother and sister, Poker and Rodney which really is marvellous news. Again though, I still have Two Up and Blackjack to work on as they are still both very, very, tiny, yet at the back of my mind I am thinking well if Baccarat has suddenly turned the corner, then there is absolutely no reason whatsoever why the other 2 can not do the same surely? The Gamblers are bundles of energy without a doubt and it is just not safe to be upstairs or in the kitten room, or on the stairs when they are playing games because they really can be little terrors. Even now, they will still take on the Burps in wrestling matches and size makes no difference whatsoever because in typical Oriental fashion, our Gamblers are very determined young children. I think that when the time comes for them to leave home that their new families may need to have nerves of steel to live with their fur children because I think they may well create havoc for the rest of their lives.

Day 44 - October 31, 2006

Photos are not great today but I am still trying to catch up with everything and I did figure as we've not had any photos for so long now that is was far better to include just a few than none at all.

There are some days when I look at our Gamblers and think that their ears are the biggest part of them! Having said that though, they have all been tucking into their fish and chicken meals for the last couple of days and whilst we still have 2 small Blacks, at the moment I'm happy with their progress. Our Black kittens are forever trying to escape from the bottom stair into the main hallway and the back room. They have absolutely no fear at all of any of our other adult cat family, and are happy just to wander about exploring everything. I still think it is very interesting that Roulette and Poker have such similar personalities, and Blackjack, Baccarat and Two Up have very similar personalities to each other. Roulette and Poker are constantly on the lookout for mischief and trouble, whereas our other 3 babies are much more content to run around and play with each other (or any of the Burps who want to play with them as well).

Day 43 - October 30, 2006

Many, many apologies for the few days we have had with no entries at all. Basically, our weekend was full of unexpected events and news etc and everything has been up in the air and I have just not had the time to do any kitten diaries at all. There is a short entry for today however there are no photos because we are now just incredibly behind with so much and we need to spend the entire day trying to get back to normal. Tomorrow, there will be photos as per usual, and hopefully things will have calmed down again and diaries go back to having proper daily entries.

On Friday, our Gamblers had a visit from a lovely lady named Wendi who we have been in touch with regarding a baby and we are delighted to say that Poker will be sharing his new home with Wendi and we are so thrilled about this and we feel sure he will have a fantastic home with Wendi and her family. We have had some progress with Baccarat in that she is now starting to pick up with regards to size and is catching up with Roulette & Poker which again is wonderful news. We still have so much work to do though with Blackjack and Two Up who are still very small. All 5 of our Gamblers though are incredibly lively, have very good appetites, and are still incredibly talkative so this is excellent. There is a very good chance (I think?) that Teen and Tone might visit their lovely girl, Roulette this weekend and I am desperately hoping this is the case because a long chat with Teen will hopefully restore some of my sanity!!!
