Day 55 - October 6, 2005
Thanks to Caryll for pointing out to me that I forgot to change the date on yesterday's entry but I can promise that it wasn't intentional and it's certainly not my way of trying to keep the Dancers here longer than they should be :) All the photos below were actually taken last night after one of the baby's evening meals and as you can see, at night times, our Dancers really do go slightly crazy and they will play games for hours on end. All the babies are actually sound asleep at the moment but it's no surprise because all morning they have been tearing around the house like race horses. We all have to be so careful because no matter where we venture in the house, there's always a good possibility that a baby is right at our feet. It's not too bad with the Red babies as their colours make them so very noticeable but Lambada and Tango blend in with everything so we have to be really careful.

Day 54 - October 5, 2005

Salsa was having some wonderful cuddles last night after dinner with dad. We were sitting around the table and Graham saw Salsa at his feet, looking up at him and he just couldn't resist picking him up for cuddles. The scary moment was when we discussing how we don't have a home for Salsa yet, that Graham thought we may as well keep him! Trying to explain that we really can't upset the balance by having another boy was rather difficult, especially when we looked at Salsa's beautiful little face. So if anyone out there wants to become a slave to a fabulous Oriental Red kitten with a great temperament, please do contact me :) The Dancers are having the time of their lives when they're awake and now that they are older, they don't spend all their time together in one group. For example, at one point this morning, Tango and Calypso were upstairs, Bolero & Salsa were in the lounge room and Lambada was in the back room with Mrs T. They really are starting to become so much more in dependant now which is great.

Day 53 - October 4, 2005
I totally did not manage to get any photos at all of Lambada or Tango in today's entry. The reason for this, which I didn't realise until afterwards, is that while everyone was running around playing, both our Black babies were upstairs, feeding on Amaretto and obviously making the most of having a mum all to themselves. Calypso, Salsa, and Bolero are thrilled to be back in general population and to be able to play mad games again with the Chocolate Bars & The T's. When they are awake, they are usually found in the lounge room, scrambling about all over the sofa and playing chase games. Bolero has already shown a preference for sleeping curled up with Gonzo the Gorilla because when I went to give the babies their lunch today, I couldn't find Bolero. I searched upstairs and downstairs and then moved the curtain back a bit on the off chance Bolero was there and sure enough, he was curled up behind the curtain and sleeping on Gonzo. I guess that Jacqui had best find her largest stuffed toys and have them ready in waiting for Bolero's arrival. Calypso, on the other hand, uses Gonzo as an instrument to help him with his pouncing games as Gonzo is large enough to hide behind and soft enough to squeeze under whilst waiting for the next victim.

Day 52 - October 3, 2005
Tango and Lambada are now both on their own special diet. I'm just not happy with their size at the moment. There is quite a bit difference, as you can tell by the photos between the Red Dancers and the Black ones. I don't actually think anything in particular is wrong with them as they eat loads, purr lots, play normally, run around and their toilet habits are all normal. I had actually convinced myself yesterday afternoon that both of them are shrinking, rather than growing, although that obviously isn't the case. As I type this entry, Tango is on my lap, playing with the zipper on my jumper. I've now put both babies on a Hills AD diet. Naturally they still have access to the James Wellbeloved kitten biscuits and the Whiskers Kitten biscuits which are left out all the time. When the other babies are now fed, Lambada and Tango are fed separate on the AD and I'm hoping that it will make a difference.

Day 51 - October 2, 2005
The Dancers are still quite upset about the lack of playmates and are still crying and scratching at the door to get out so I think it's fairly safe to say that at some point tomorrow, the door will be opened back up and the Dancers can then mix with the Chocolate Bars & the T's again. The only bonus that the Dancers have seen in their latest confinement is the fact that they do not have to share meal times with 6 other babies and they have the plate all to themselves. It is a fairly rushed entry today, again with no photos sorry because we have had some "cat moving" to do here with our other cats due to Sheridans now becoming much more of a man and problems are starting to occur. Unfortunately, this means that I have very little time at all.

Day 50 - October 1, 2005

It's been really tough on our Dancers for the last 24 hours because they are missing the company of the Chocolate Bars and the T's. This morning, they could see them on the other side of the door, running about and having fun, and the poor little Dancers were scratching at the door, trying desperate to get out and join them. I feel really awful about keeping them separated, so much so, that chances are, in a day or two, we will have open house again because I personally believe that the risk of the vaccine shedding is rather minimal. I noticed today that our Dancers were much quieter and spent far more time sleeping than they do when they have whole house access and Lambada and Tango keep crying out to Twix on the other side of the door. Calypso was the first of our Dancers to have a visit from his mum, Anita today. It was really great to see Anita, and Calypso had the most wonderful cuddles and little games with his new mum while he was sitting on her lap. Everyone else was curled up asleep on their bed. I really do love to watch the way the babies bond with their new owners, even from this early stage and there was certainly a lot of bonding going on between Calypso and Anita. My biggest problem when Anita arrived was making sure that I had given her the correct Red baby! Bolero was also in seventh heaven today as not only did he have a wonderfully long cuddle with his mum, Jacqui, but he also got to see his Grandpa and Granny (Ray & Caryll). No doubt Caryll will tell me off for implying she is an old Granny :) It's always such a pleasure spending time with Jacqui, Ray & Caryll and we never run out of things to talk about. Well at least Caryll and I spoke, Ray sometimes managed to get a word in, and Jacqui was too busy drooling over the beautiful red baby in her arms to worry about conversation. I do firmly believe that Jacqui and Bolero are a match made in heaven and I just hope that when Bolero is sharing their home and is as naughty as I know he will be, that Jacqui will remember her cuddly moments with him here and will not bring him back to ask for a better behaved one in exchange.

There are no photos again today as I've just not had the time. It's a miracle that the diaries even made it online today. I'll make sure I have lots of photos for tomorrow's entry to make up for it.

Day 49 - september 30, 2005 - 7 weeks old today!

It's so hard to believe that our Dancers are 7 weeks old already. The time has simply flown by, as usual, far too quickly. I am so far behind on everything now, due to the visit to the vets this morning. The poor Dancers could not understand why the Chocolate Bars & the T's were being put in the carriers and why there were being left behind. Bolero & Salsa kept trying to get in the carriers with them which was really cute. When I arrived back from the vets, the Dancers were all sound asleep and obviously were not even missing their playmates at all. When they did wake up though it was a little difficult as they could seem the other babies on the other side of the door and didn't know why they couldn't have the run of the house like they normally would. They consoled themselves by playing some rather mad games and attempting to destroy the back room instead. These photos were actually taken very late yesterday afternoon as I don't have the time to take any today.
