Drambuie Day 90 - November 10, 2005
I can not believe that the dreaded time has come and my babies are about to leave me to go and live with their new families :( It's so incredibly sad because the Dancers have been such an amazing litter and they are such special babies. I am going to find it very difficult when I look around me on Saturday morning and there will be no little red faces talking to me or kissing me :( I have spent most of today preparing all the paperwork for our babies who are leaving which has been quite time consuming. In a way, this is good because I've had to concentrate so hard on the paperwork so as not to make any errors, that I hadn't had a great deal of time to think about how much I'll miss them all. The first of our babies to leave us is Calypso and he will be going late this afternoon. Calypso is the second largest of our red babies and he is always the first to start a play fight with someone. I think it will be a much quieter night tonight without him. I know that Anita has been looking forward to him going home with her for so long now and I know that Calypso is going to be spoilt rotten by Anita and he will be a wonderful home with his new mum. As this is Calypso's "Special Day", the only photos in today's entries are of him although as you can tell by a couple of the shots, he was more interested in re joining his litter mates than standing on the bed having his photo taken.

Drambuie Day 89 - November 9, 2005
Today we were actually in and out for most of the day which is why I didn't have the chance to get an entry online. It is so incredibly hectic here at the moment due to the fact that 4 of our Dancers are leaving us within the next 48 hours. The entries should resume as per normal tomorrow.

Drambuie Day 88 - November 8, 2005
As you can see by the photos below (yes I actually found some time to take photos), our babies and some of our other cats have basically taken over the hallway totally. I must admit though that I do love seeing them all curled up in a heap, piled up on top of each other like that. Each Dancer looks at most of our adult cats as being 2nd mothers to them, as their granny, Cacao, Tia Lusso and Amarula, all take it in turns in grooming the Dancers and keeping them under control (to the best of their ability that is!). It is going to be quite a culture shock for our babies when they go to their new homes however, I think that they will get so much attention from their new family that after a day or two, they hopefully won't miss the "clan" that they left behind.

Drambuie Day 87 - November 7, 2005
Apologies for the rather short entries with no photos but I've been rather busy today trying to sort out some things. Our babies have been playing mad games throughout the whole of the house today, up and down on the dining room table, the sofa, the stairs and their favourite places, the upstairs hallway and bathroom. Due to the babies' habits, we have now nicknamed our hallway the Obstacle Course because it's so incredibly difficult trying to maneuver the hallway as there are always cats and babies playing games or sprawled out all over the place sleeping. We've even put nightlight's in at both ends of the hallway so that if anyone wants to go to the bathroom at some ridiculous hour of the morning, it's safe to do so without falling over a baby and breaking our legs.

Drambuie Day 86 - November 6, 2005
Trying to take photos of our Dancers today was so very difficult because each time I pointed the camera at them, they came towards me. They still don't get the concept that in order to have their photo taken they can't be right at my feet. Nor do I want to take loads of photos of sleeping babies because that does get rather boring after a while for their new owners. Our Dancers have been creating havoc again upstairs for most of the morning, although Calypso and Salsa did venture downstairs to play chase all across the sofa and arm chair. I've now cut out most of the babies "wet" meals they aren't eating as much of the dry kitten biscuits as I like to see in babies at this age. Yesterday, they had just 2 wet meals, morning and evening and already I'm seeing more and more of the biscuits being eaten instead which I'm rather pleased about.

Drambuie Day 85 - November 5, 2005
It's not really much of an entry at all as I have been quite busy today and still have quite a lot to do. Our Dancers are doing quite well and as per usual have spent the better half of this morning tearing around the house, and then the next few hours chilling out upstairs in the hallway. That is, all apart from Bolero who preferred the company of Gonzo the Gorilla to his brothers today. It's that horrific weekend that all pet owners and breeders dread, otherwise known as fireworks nights. There were quite a few going on all night in our local area last night but fortunately, the babies weren't really that bothered by them, and I'm just praying that it will rain all afternoon and evening which will hopefully put paid to back yard displays! I will say that for those of you who also do not agree with the current fireworks laws to consider signing this petition to try and have the laws changed. Change The UK Fireworks Law petition.

Drambuie Day 84 - November 4, 2005 - 12 weeks old today!
Well that time is here now where our babies will be leaving us in a weeks' time and already, their new owners have made arrangements for days/times to collect our Dancers. Life without them in this home is going to seem so very different as right from Day 1, our Dancers captured the hearts of everyone in the house, including all of our adult cats. Still, at least I have them all to myself for another week :) Bolero was more interested in being cuddled today than he was having his photo taken. Each time I went to take a photo, he came straight over to me for cuddles and wasn't photographed. We had lots of fun and games this morning during the sweeping/mopping of the upstairs hallway. You would think by now that I would have learnt to put the babies and other cats in a different room while I did the floors but no, instead I encourage them to play with the broom and the mop. Salsa had lots of fun last night in the bedroom during visiting time. He was delighted to be up on the bed with all the big kids and was more than happy to show off for the camera.
