Kitten Diaries
Drambuie
August 2005
Drambuie's 1st Kitten Diary - August 2005 to November 2005
Drambuie Day 76 - October 27, 2005
Again all entries are the same for today as I seem to be up to my eyeballs in paperwork and babies right now. I can't remember ever being this busy with babies but I guess it's the first time that we've had babies of varying ages in the house. I'm looking forward to the weekend when hopefully things will calm down quite a bit and I can get the entries back to normal!

Drambuie Day 75 - October 26, 2005
I really must say thanks to Graham for writing such great entries in all 3 diaries yesterday. He did a much better job than I do and I thought the entries were really funny. Mine are all rather boring in comparison. I'm afraid there are not many photos of our Dancers today as it's a hectic day because Twix and Crunchie left me today and we are having the front hallway/stairs painted which means that all the cats and babies are in the downstairs part of the house and can't access the upstairs at all due to the painting. To say everything is chaos is an understatement! For those of you who are wondering, yes, the party did go ahead as planned last night and I have to say that I'm rather relieved it took place in the kitten room because the mess that greeted me this morning was horrific. Judging by the sounds coming from the kitten room they all had a wonderful time and were still partying at 2am and I wouldn't have minded so much if they had been considerate enough to invite ME!! But no, I just feed them, love them and clean up their mess and obviously not important enough to be a guest at their going away party. I do personally think that as human daddy has taken such an interest in the babies, the he should clear up the mess from the party, particularly, as I'm sure he probably gave them the idea in the first darn place! They only Dancer who didn't enjoy the party as much as he should have was poor Salsa because with his unfortunate name, the rest of the babies forgot that he was named after a dance and were trying to dip their biscuits in him all night :(

Drambuie Day 74 - October 25, 2005

Due to the fact that mummy is busy doing paperwork today she's hasn't had the time to write out our diaries today, so we decided to do it ourselves and got our daddy to write it up for us. The problem is that we can't speak and he can't spell so this could be interesting!!.

We've been invited tonight to a bit of a do to bid farewell to the Chocolate Bars tonight, both Crunchie and Twix will be on their merry way tomorrow so it's a last chance for all of us to get together and party the night away. The music is booked and the food has been ordered so it should be a scream. We've spent most of the day planning it, but of course we have had to keep it quiet in case Granny Cacao got wind of it...you know how she would disapprove of little ones staying up late.

It was funny this morning though, when the big daddy fed us (aparently becasue our normal room service was still in bed). We heard him come up the stairs and knew it was breakfast time, so we all waiting quietly behind the door, as soon as we heard the latch go, Tango shouted "jeronimo" .....which confussed us because no one knows a jeronimo...anyway it seemed like the key for a surge and we blasted out the door to the freedom of the hallwall. As we bolted though, all the other cats in the house stormed in and where quickly shut behind us and we were given our food in the hallway. Quite a impressive move we had to admit.

Anyway time to start thinking about what to wear from tonights do.....now what coulour goes best with red fur?...hmmm I've seen a nice black jumper in one of these cupboards somewhere.......

Day 73 - October 24, 2005
Just like the Chocolate Bars, the Dancers have not left their poor mother alone. How she has the patience to stand there and let them battle over her nipples is beyond me. In one way, I will be glad when the babies have all gone to new homes and Drambuie can have a well earned rest. At the moment, the Dancers spend part of their morning downstairs in the dining/lounge area and the rest of their time is spent in the upstairs hallway and in the bathroom. The bathroom is still one of their favourite places to play.

Day 72 - October 23, 2005
There really are no entries for today and again it's the same for each diary. I've spent most of the day trying to catch up on everything that I didn't get done yesterday because I was out. So I am just going to say that all babies are doing really very well, creating havoc and mess as per usual and are simply being typical kittens.

Day 71 - October 22, 2005
If you've read one diary entry today, you have read them all because all 3 entries are the same without any photos I'm afraid. The reason for this is that we've been out for most of the day, having a day off really which we don't get to do that often. Despite me asking them all to behave themselves and despite the fact that I sat them down and said: "Now that you are grown up kitties, you need to accept some responsibility and because I trust you, we are all going out for the day and will leave you to your own devices. Now I know that you won't invite your furry friends over for parties, and I know that you will make sure you still have your naps in the afternoon and I know that you won't make any long phone calls or leave the house and go out with your mates." They all looked at me, ears cocked, listening intently and when I had finished Twix, who is the spokesman for the Chocolate Bars and Dancers said: "It's okay mum, you can trust us and when you get back home you will be so impressed at how responsible we have been that you will feel happier about having another day off". Cacao, who is the Matriarch of the family glared at me and said: "You are having a laugh! These babies are too young for responsibility but as you insist on having a day off, then on your head be it!". It would appear that Cacao was right, as always, because upon our return, the upstairs hallway and bathroom looked as if a hurricane had torn through there. The bedding was not where it should be, there was food and litter scattered everywhere, paw prints on the bath, toilet and hand basin, to say nothing of the toys strewn from the downstairs entrance all the way to the bathroom. I think it's safe to say that today was my only day off until the babies leave! I'm afraid that the situation was no different for our Berries either, however, I didn't bother giving them the "responsible teenager" speech as they are still too young to do much damage (and I don't think they have any friends anyway) but I did warn their mother that she was going to have to keep them under control and that she would have to ensure they ate plenty of their dry JW kitten biscuits. Now I am presuming that she did this because the the bowl was quite a bit emptier upon our return and their was kitten biscuits all over the floor!

Day 70 - October 21, 2005 - 10 weeks old today!
Just for once I decided that I would not start off a new entry by saying how quickly the time is flying by, even though it is! Our Dancers have really integrated themselves into family life here with us and the rest of our feline family and it's going to be so sad when they do eventually leave us. It doesn't matter where we walk in the house at the moment, you can always guarantee that a Red or Black baby will be somewhere in the vicinity. I truly do not know how they manage to move that fast.
