Today is such an incredibly sad day for me because Liquorice is leaving us at last. This little lady will always have a very special place in our hearts as she is Ashanti's first born child. Her lovely new family, Linz, turned up this morning to take her baby home and I have to say that it was great to see Linz again and we had a lovely chat . It was also really nice to meet Martin as well. Linz is such ga great lady and we do feel we have found a very special home for our precious child. She is going to have the time of her life with Linz and she will have the company of another gorgeous fur child, Lulu. We will actually have the pleasure of seeing Lulu at some point as Lulu will be coming into stud to Tuaca. I do think Liquorice will be glad to leave home as she is now over 4 months of age and I think it will be really nice for her to move to a home where she will not have to share everything with so many other furry family members. I am sure it will not take her long at all to settle in because Liquorice does have her father's personality and while it will be difficult for her at first adjusting to a much quieter home than the one she has here, she will soon become best friends with Lulu and she really could not ask for a better mummy than Linz. It was difficult to see Liquorice leave, but I had said my private good byes to her earlier in the morning. We had an interesting visit towards the end when first we had to make sure that yes, it was definitely Liquorice going in the carrier and not one of our other Oriental Black kittens, and I guess it was just unfortunate that as I was about to zip up the carrier, the zip actually broke meaning that the carrier door could not be closed. Some days really are better than others! So now Liquorice is currently on her way home in one of our small carriers :)

I guess this now means we have come to the end of another Schimmel Kitten Diary and it really is going to be so odd not seeing Liquorice around our home and getting into mischief. I feel that Ashanti, and Cointreau, have both done us proud in producing this beautiful little girl and I look forward to updates from Linz as to how Liquorice is settling in and to how she does on the show bench. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Linz for sharing her home with one of our babies and we would like to thank those of you who have followed Liquorice's progress from birth up until this point in time.

Today was a big day for Liquorice as she, along with the Capitals and the Tails of Hans Christian Anderson, had her first set of kitten vaccinations. I am sure Linz will feel very proud to know that her baby girl was beautifully behaved and she sailed through the vet examination and vaccinations with no problems at all. She didn't even flinch as the needle was inserted, she just stood there looking at me as if to say what on earth is going on. Since coming home from the vet, all she has done is had a meal, and then slept off the whole "traumatic" experience :) It's the first time in weeks that I haven't seen Liquorice downstairs and playing in my room and in the cat run.
