Day 83 - September 21, 2007

There are no photos today sorry due to lack of time.

Cashew gave me a bit of a shock today. I had been hoovering downstairs and doing the general cat related cleaning chores and out of the corner of my eye I spied an Oriental Black kitten coming in from out in the cat run. I smiled briefly thinking how lovely it is to see the babies outside in the fresh air. Then I stopped and thought to myself "Hang on, our older Ori Blacks have all left home now as the last 1 left yesterday." Instant panic set in and for a very brief moment I wondered if I had somehow given away one of our own Blacks by mistake (as I said, I was panicked). I turned the hoover off, went chasing after the little Black kitten, only to discover that it was none other than Cashew! This is the very first time any of our Nuts had been outside because even though they spend quite a bit of time downstairs, up until now, none of them had shown any interest in going into the run. Yet Cashew sauntered back inside, hugely confident, as if he had been going out there for months. The poor little guy couldn't understand why mum was running after him trying to catch him to see see who he was. He was most put out bless him. I can no longer keep up with the Nuts, or keep track of them for that matter. Some days, it seems that no matter where I turn, there is always one, sometimes two of them at my feet or getting in the way. They are however, so adorable that I really don't mind them getting underfoot.

Day 82 - September 20, 2007
Today's entries are really photos only because as mentioned yesterday 2 of our babies left us today, and time has really gotten away from me this afternoon. Possibly tomorrow we will be back to normal, who knows :)

Day 81 - September 19, 2007
Yet again I'm afraid there are no entries for today. I have an awful flu and am having a really off day. We also have 2 babies leaving us tomorrow, so in between sneezing and cleaning, I have had mountains of paperwork to get through.

Day 80 - September 18, 2007

I'm afraid that today's photos are all "sleepy" photos as I made the mistake of going up to the kitten room to take photos of the babies when they were sleeping and none of them were keen to wake up and smile for the camera. I will try and do a better job tomorrow :)

Today is the first time in ages that only one of our Nuts ventured downstairs. That baby was Macadamia. I actually think the reason everyone wanted to stay upstairs today is because it's freezing! It is actually so cold that this morning I closed the big windows in both kitten rooms and the central heating is on. Naturally, the babies find it much warmer upstairs than down here because I have the window to the cat run open all the time and my room is quite chilly. The weather didn't stop Macadamia however and he was more than happy to still come downstairs with the Detectives and have some games and play on the large scratch pole.

Day 79 - September 17, 2007

We would like to begin this diary entry by congratulating Caryll and ray on Kyla's great results at her show on the 15th. There are no photos for today's entries but I am still trying to catch up after having such a very busy weekend. Tomorrow's entries will be back to normal with photographs.

Patterns, patterns, and patterns! Such a nightmare at times. Pistachio is a definite Blue Spotted Tabby, and at this point in time, despite showing us that he may well end up turning into a Ticked Tabby, for the time being, we will be registering Pecan as a Brown (Black) Oriental Spotted Tabby. The Oriental Tabby patterns can take a while to come through, or they can change as the babies mature, so if we find in months to come that Pecan's spots disappear and he ends up as a Ticked Tabby, then it will simply be a case of re-registering him. Fortunately, Cashew and Macadamia are causing me no registration problems at all :) The Nuts are not in my good books today because they have been running riot both upstairs and downstairs, and have constantly tried to run into the kitchen every time I go in or out. I've now had to drag Pecan out from behind the washing machine on 3 separate occasions. The only way I could actually get any peace and quiet was to take them up a big plate of poached fish and that certainly kept our Nuts occupied, although not for long :)

Day 77 - September 15, 2007

Prior to beginning today's entries, I would like to warn you all that there will be no kitten diaries tomorrow. I have a very full on day tomorrow with one baby leaving, I have something else on, and then we have friends visiting so I will not have a spare moment.

Actually, have just only now finished 2 kitten diaries, it is 1600, I have not even started the paperwork for Ugly Duckling who is leaving tomorrow, I am tearing my hair out and stress levels are at their highest, in which case, the kitten diary for the Nuts, the Detectives, and the Ray J's will just become a "photo" entry because I now need an extra 10 hours just to somehow get through the rest of the day.
