Day 69 - November 2, 2007
Today's diary entries for the Chefs and the Ray J's are identical but today was their very important "1st vaccination" day. I have vaccinations, particularly the first one because not only does it require tactical precision to get all 9 babies in their respective carriers on time for the appointment, but also, you then have the worry of any possible side effects. I have to say all 9 babies were absolute angels when it came to traveling in the car to the vets. This surprised me because we also had Frangelico with us as her booster was due and she sang all the way there. (Jelly is not a great traveler). Then at the vets, every single baby behaved beautifully, they did not mind being examined by Jo, and only one baby flinched as the needle went in and that was James. But none of them fought, hissed, or were petrified. Our Ray J's were remarkable, they took it all in their stride and acted as if it were no big deal. Our Chefs are only 9 weeks old today and this is the first time in ages that we have vaccinated a litter at 9 weeks because lately we have been waiting until they are 10-12 weeks to do their first set of jabs. They looked so tiny, yet obviously they were more than old enough and strong enough to withstand their vaccination. The one thing I was really pleased about is that Heston was also vaccinated, and thoroughly examined, and she is perfectly fine. She has no problems, she is normal, and she is actually not that much smaller than Antony. I guess this means at some point we will start to look for a new home for her. Overall, vaccinations went well, Jo was happy with the babies, and they were all extremely subdued in the car on the way home bless them.

Day 68 - November 1, 2007
It's very unusual nowadays to get a photo of all 3 of our Ray J's together but I did manage it today :) Of course it didn't last particularly long because as soon as I finished taking the photos Barry decided to climb down the scratch post, head first bless her. She was in a slight hurry I must admit because Jonesy was biting her on the back paws as she was going down the ladder. It's not until you see all 3 of them together than you realise just how beautiful, and just how striking their patterns actually are. All 3 babies, despite being Spotted's, are all developing their patterns at a very different rate, something that I personally find quite fascinating.

Day 67 - October 31, 2007
The Ray J's have been such very good little children today although that is probably because at 2am they were tearing around the home like lunatics. All night and during the early hours of the morning all we could hear was the thuds and thumps of the Ray J's. It wasn't the Chefs because they were asleep. The Ray J's were having the time of their lives with our older babies who are leaving us shortly to go to their new homes. They are adorable when they're sleeping/resting and they look like little angels bless them. As you can see by one of the photos below, Barry is trying to give herself a headache by sleeping in the cylinder with her head hanging down. I did keep trying to put it back up but she kept letting it drop down.

Day 66 - October 30, 2007

I actually managed some half way decent photos of our Ray J's today and yet again, I do think that all 3 babies are just totally delectable. They all look so very different from each other and their patterns are all developing nicely. None of our Ray J's have been downstairs at all today and I do think that is because it is so very cold today. Even though the central heating is on (well it's on permanently!) I have the window to the cat run open so there is quite a chill coming through the downstairs part of the home. Mind you at the time of putting this entry online it's only 1408 so there is still time for our children to venture downstairs.

Day 65 - October 29, 2007
Today's photos turned into a total disaster! Barry was the only baby who would let herself be photographed and even that was a chore. I made the mistake of going upstairs to take photos when the babies were all resting and as such, Barry did not want to wake up and look at the camera whereas Jonesy and Ray were "buried" underneath a pile of kittens in the corner and refused to come out. Actually, if you can even manage to see Jonesy or Ray in the kitten pile you are doing well :)

Day 64 - October 28, 2007

As mentioned in the last entry, I would be having a problem getting diary entries online, mainly due to the fact that we were showing this weekend, we had babies leaving and a whole load of other stuff going on so entries were a total impossibility. Tomorrow is also going to be a very hectic day but as of Tuesday, the kitten diaries will be back to normal so please do bear with me until that time.

I don't know where to start with our Ray J's, or what to say really in some aspects because even though I have been so behind in diary entries, very little has changed with our Ray J's. Jonesy is still the largest of all 3 babies but that is no surprise as he is the only male in the litter. All 3 babies are so incredibly pretty and quite naughty. It's a "Tabby" thing, I am sure of it, but if there is trouble to be had, then you can guarantee our Ray J's are at the forefront of it. None of them have been out into the cat run yet, although Jonesy has ventured up onto the windowsill to have a look. I don't blame them though as the weather has been so darn cold and even our own adult cats have thought twice before going out there. If I get a chance, I will try to take at least one photo of each baby tomorrow if time permits. It's actually been that long since they were photographed that I'm sure most of our kitten families have forgotten what their babies look like :)
