Day 53 - October 17, 2007
Unfortunately there are still no photos today and all kitten diaries are exactly the same. I did originally have plans to do the diaries as per normal today however at approximately 1730 yesterday, one of our ladies went into labour. It was a long labour that didn't finish until around 0200 this morning which meant I have had very little sleep and have spent all of today doing the normal chores, taking care of all the children, and closely monitoring the newborns. It's now 1638 and I still have at least 10 loads of washing to sort through, as well as trying desperate hard to make arrangements to collect the newest fur addition to the Schimmel home. Tomorrow is going to be an absolute nightmare so please do not worry if there are no entries online tomorrow. The babies are all doing well however.

Day 52 - October 16, 2007

You will have all noticed I have missed a couple of days' entries in the kitten diaries and rather than go into any long drawn out stories about recent "disasters" (not cat related), I will simply say that this week, and next week, are going to be horrendous. As it stands at the moment, I will endeavour to get the kitten diaries online as per normal but would say not to be surprised if we miss days here and there. Today's entries are very brief text only entries but one way or another, I will be taking photos tomorrow.

Barry had a lovely visit today from the Man in the White Coat, the Rosette Queen, and the Photographer. I was so pleased to see that Myrtle was happy to have cuddles with her new family, although I was a bit concerned about the fact that the Rosette Queen almost certainly would know exactly how many rosettes she has and what colours they are, yet totally mistook Jonesy for Barry. In fact, she spent a good few minutes telling Jonesy what a clever girl she was by using the litter tray :) I guess though, that I really need only be concerned should I see them at a show and find out they have taken the wrong cat by mistake as the Rosette Queen forgot which one was which :) On a serious note however, thanks so much guys for what you did today, it is truly appreciated and you are amazing people.

Day 49 - October 13, 2007

There will be no kitten diaries at all for tomorrow but they will resume as per normal on Monday. It's already gone 1600 and I am so behind today, mainly because for some daft reason I ended up taking way too many photos of the Ray J's and the Chefs and as a result, it has taken me in excess of 3 hours to sort through all the photos. as a result, diary entries are going to be short and sweet.

Barry and Jonesy have been wrestling with each other (and the other babies) much more so than usual. Ray has been in a different mood today and has wanted to play on her own, or explore on her own and to be honest, half the time I haven't known where she is. Of course I may be biased, but I'm sure you will agree though when you look at the photos below that our Ray J's are just totally beautiful. At 7 weeks of age, which they are today, they are becoming more and more gorgeous as each day passes. I know I have said this before, but they really have been such a happy, easy litter, with no problems at all. Jonesy is going to be quite a big boy when he grows up and he really is steaming ahead of the others in the weight department. The size comes from his father, Ashanti, because whilst Ashanti is not a "solid/chunky" boy, Ashanti is quite big and he does sire very big babies. For those of you who have seen Amaretto, you will know that Jonesy's size does not come from his mum as she is quite small and petite.
