Day 27 - September 21, 2007

There are no photos today sorry due to lack of time.

While Sarah and Graham were visiting Miss Marple, naturally we all went into visit our younger babies as well and Jonesy proved himself to be a few Roo's short of the top paddock. He decided it would be a good idea to venture out of the box to see who the new "people" were, only he got sidetracked yet again and totally forgot that he is supposed to walk down the ramp and not fall off the side of it. You really do have to laugh because he quite literally just heads towards the side, steps off, and then wonders why he falls. He really is not very bright at this particular point in time. Ray didn't hesitate to show up her big brother because she calmly went to the side of the ramp, stepped down, and landed on her feet every time. If I had to pick personalities for them at this young age, then Jonesy is definitely the "not very bright but loving child"; Ray is the "extremely intelligent and thoughtful" child; Barry is the "very playful and happy" child. I do love them at this age where their personalities are starting to really develop.

Day 26 - September 20, 2007
Today's entries are really photos only because as mentioned yesterday 2 of our babies left us today, and time has really gotten away from me this afternoon. Possibly tomorrow we will be back to normal, who knows :)

Day 25 - September 19, 2007
Yet again I'm afraid there are no entries for today. I have an awful flu and am having a really off day. We also have 2 babies leaving us tomorrow, so in between sneezing and cleaning, I have had mountains of paperwork to get through.

Day 24 - September 18, 2007
I made sure that in today's kitten diary, there are quite a few photos of our Ray J's little faces because I think the more photos of their faces there are, the more confused The Man in the White Coat and the Rosette Queen will be. Even when I look at the photos below, I would be hard pushed to know which baby should live with me and I'm extremely pleased I don't have to make that decision. Although to be honest, if I had to pick just one, for me personally it would be Ray. I don't know why, there is just something about her that appeals to me, despite her extremely odd colouring. Our Ray J's are enjoying their newfound freedom. This morning when I went in to give the mum's their breakfast and to feed Heston again, I opened the ramp of the posh box and left it open so our Ray J's have had the time of their lives going up and down the ramp. Naturally, the baby who fell off the ramp was Jonesy. He really is such a typical boy (no offence to the males reading this). Ray and Barry both instinctively knew that in order to get from the box to the floor, they must walk down the ramp, but not Jonesy, oh no, he took 3 steps down the ramp, headed straight towards the side of it and quite literally stepped off into mid air before landing on his bum on the carpet. I would like to be able to say that he learnt his lesson, but nope, I'm afraid not.

Day 23 - September 17, 2007

We would like to begin this diary entry by congratulating Caryll and ray on Kyla's great results at her show on the 15th. There are no photos for today's entries but I am still trying to catch up after having such a very busy weekend. Tomorrow's entries will be back to normal with photographs.

Okay, another change in the lives of our Ray J's............................Jonesy, is a Fawn Oriental Spotted Tabby and not a Cinnamon Oriental Spotted Tabby as first suggested. I remember sending an email to Jill some time back saying that I didn't feel the coat colour had enough of that reddish tinge for him to be a Cinnamon and had in fact wondered if he were fawn. It's all so very new to me having never bred Cinnamon or Fawn before, but fortunately, Teen and Tone were around yesterday and declared that Jonesy was definitely a Fawn. This is quite nice. As it stands at the moment, 2 of our Ray J's will be available for loving new homes, but we are not quite sure which 2 yet. We were going to keep Barry here with us however, as Jamie, who is one of the Chefs, is now female, she will be joining our home instead of Barry. Tomorrow, the ramp on the posh box will be left permanently down because our Ray J's, and even our Chefs, are at that age now where they should be allowed freedom of their kitten room should they choose to go out of the posh box and explore. It could be fun and games up there tomorrow.

Day 21 - September 15, 2007

Prior to beginning today's entries, I would like to warn you all that there will be no kitten diaries tomorrow. I have a very full on day tomorrow with one baby leaving, I have something else on, and then we have friends visiting so I will not have a spare moment.

Actually, have just only now finished 2 kitten diaries, it is 1600, I have not even started the paperwork for Ugly Duckling who is leaving tomorrow, I am tearing my hair out and stress levels are at their highest, in which case, the kitten diary for the Nuts, the Detectives, and the Ray J's will just become a "photo" entry because I now need an extra 10 hours just to somehow get through the rest of the day.
