Day 75 - November 8, 2007
Today's kitten diaries for the Chefs and the Ray J's are exactly the same because I want to talk briefly about kitten registrations. We had been hoping to register these litters with TICA as opposed to the GCCF however even now, we are still only half way through registering our prefix with TICA. While we are hoping to have this completed this week, if we were to then register the babies with TICA after our prefix came through this would mean that the registration papers would not be ready for our new kitten families when they come to collect their children. Rather than leave it any longer, we have decided that we will have to register these 2 litters with the GCCF. As such, the registration paperwork was sent to the GCCF office today so hopefully it will be back in plenty of time for our babies to leave us. For any of our kitten families who, like ourselves, show with TICA, this will mean you will need to transfer your baby to TICA but this is very easy to do.

Day 74 - November 7, 2007
Another day where our Ray J's have been in fine form although Barry has actually been a good little girl today, whereas Ray and Jonesy have again been pouncing on anyone who happens to be near to them. I know I keep saying this, however, our Ray J's are such beautiful babies don't you think? Every time I look at a photo of them I can't believe just how adorable they are. You can see by the photos below that despite Jonesy being a big, brave, troublemaker, he is not that much of a man that he still won't feed from his mum. I do love the photos of Jonesy and Amaretto.
Day 73 - November 6, 2007

Unfortunately I didn't manage to get photos of our Chefs and Ray J's today because I did photos of the Indians first and then the camera batteries died. I put them on charge and if they are charged up in time, I will try to take a couple of photos to add to the entries.

Yet again our Ray J's have been in feisty moods and I'm not sure who has been the worst today, Ray or Jonesy. In my time I've seen some "wicked" looking Orientals but the look in Ray's eyes this morning as she sized up her prey (Gary) made me take a step back. I actually put down the bedding that I was holding and just waited and watched. This was not a mischievous bit of game playing, this was a little warrior queen with unbridled anger and determination as she stalked her victim. Stalked is actually the wrong word, because she took very little time to spring into action, and poor Gary never knew what hit him. I do not know what he had done to Ray to put her in that frame of mind, and chances are, neither did Gary bless him. As for Jonesy, well he spends most of his waking life just looking for people to wrestle with. He doesn't care that they may be sleeping, or eating, because if he sees someone, he just runs up to them, pins them down on the ground, and starts playing the limb biting game. I don't know where they get their energy from but they do keep me entertained for hours on end.

Day 72 - November 5, 2007
The photos below will no doubt indicate the sort of feisty moods that our Ray J's have been in today. It's so hard to capture the babies' as they are playing and wrestling so whilst the photos below aren't great, it will show you just how energetic they can be at play time. None of our Ray J's have stopped at all and they have been on the go from the time they were fed breakfast and even now, at 1424, they are still tearing around like hooligans. I just hope that their new families are more than prepared for little hurricanes to move into their homes at the end of this month. It does make me smile that our babies can be such "rough" little children when they are playing, and so incredibly mischievous, yet when you look at the photos of them when they are being "good", you can't help but smile at how angelic they look.

Day 71 - November 4, 2007

There are no photos today sorry and the entries are rather short as this day has not gone as planned at all. We also had the last of our older children leaving home today so with one thing and another I didn't get the chance to take any photos. I also have numerous diary entries to finish off for our older babies and still haven't had the time to do so.

I don't know whether the Man in the White Coat will be pleased with my comments here about Barry or not? Barry is a bit of a wicked young lady and there are times when I watch her playing and fear for her future house mates, Kyla and Kidd. Yesterday afternoon, Garry was lying in the middle of the hallway floor upstairs, he was doing his aerobic exercises and was touching his back feet to his mouth and having a wonderful time. What he didn't realise was that Barry had been watching from a distance and she knew full well he was occupied and would not see her so she crouched down, ran at full speed towards Gary, leapt up in the air and came straight down on top of his head. He didn't even have a chance to retaliate because she was long gone before he even realised what had happened and who had done it to him. I swear that she was grinning as she ran away from him. This is normally the sort of thing that Jonesy would do, however Jonesy, being a boy, does not have the same stealth and stalking ability that Barry has so more often than not, his victims see him coming before he reaches them.

Day 70 - November 3, 2007
Our Ray J's are 10 weeks of age today and to have watched them during the past 24 hours, one would think they were not vaccinated yesterday. They have been tearing around like lunatics, they spent the entire night partying as per usual, and to them, life has just gone on normally. I have checked the vaccination sites on our babies and there are no lumps, everything is as it should be so Jo has done a superb job yet again. I looked at today's photos of our Ray J's and it struck me that this is the first litter Amaretto has ever given us where not one of her children looks even remotely like her. Each 3 of our babies all take after their father in looks. Normally with a litter you can some who look like mum and other's who look like dad but not this time around. I am delighted with their progress though for 10 weeks of age and they are just going through life exactly as they should.
