Kitten Diaries
Amaretto
July 2005
Amaretto's 3rd Kitten Diary - July 2005 to October 2005
siamesecats Day 113 - November 15, 2005

We're all rather sad today as Buttons is now leaving us. She is going to live with her sister, Whispa in Caroline & Simon's home. Buttons became available at the very last minute and when Caroline saw this, she got in touch with me to see if she could have Buttons. This absolutely made my day because not only are Caroline and Simon such fantastic owners for our babies, I love it when babies go to the same home and can then grow up together. Even though Whispa (aka Chianti) has been in her new home for a couple of week's now, I am positive that it won't be long before she and Buttons are best of friends again.

I guess that we have now came to the end of yet another Schimmel Kitten Diary. We do miss our babies when they leave us but we are so very fortunate that we've had some lovely updates from our Chocolate Bars new families and it's nice to know that they have all settled so well. This was not an easy litter at the start due to the 3 weeks of hand feeding etc. but we got through it in the end thanks to the support we have had from our friends, both breeders and pet owners. I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to read this diary, as well as our wonderful vet, but mainly, I would like to thank our Chocolate Bars owners for giving our babies such very special homes.

siamesecats Day 95 - October 28, 2005
Yet another sad day for me, but a happy day for Caroline as Whispa left me today to go and live with Caroline and Spencer. She looked so tiny in the carrier on her own and it really is quite heartbreaking. I do know though that she is going to have a great time living with Caroline and as she had already been visited by her new mum before, she was more than happy to curl up on mum's lap today and have purrs and naps so I think the bonding process will go really well. I am sad to see her leave though as she is such a happy, beautiful little girl and she can cuddle and purr for England. Our only remaining Chocolate Bar now is Buttons. Now that we are well into the 13 week stage, the diary will come to a halt here, however, when Buttons leaves me, I will put the last entry in, so please remember to check back in another 2 weeks' time. As it's Whispa's "special day", the only photos in the diary are of her.

siamesecats Day 94 - October 27, 2005
Again all entries are the same for today as I seem to be up to my eyeballs in paperwork and babies right now. I can't remember ever being this busy with babies but I guess it's the first time that we've had babies of varying ages in the house. I'm looking forward to the weekend when hopefully things will calm down quite a bit and I can get the entries back to normal!

siamesecats Day 93 - October 26, 2005
I think that as Graham did such a great job with the diaries yesterday that he should do them on a daily basis but I don't know if he is that keen. My entry today will seem very bland in comparison and also rather sad today is Twix and Crunchie's "Special Day". In other words, they have only just now gone out the door with Brad, Debbie, Jacob and Fred who are the wonderful family that the boys will be spending the rest of their lives with. It's always so sad when any of my babies leave and today is no different. Neither Drambuie nor Amaretto are bothered at all about the loss of 2 children, and the rest of the babies are more interested in sleeping than looking for their missing litter mates. I am positive that both boys will have wonderful lives with their new family and they will also have feline company as well so there will be a brand new playmate for them called Fidget (hope I got that right Brad?). One of the best parts of breeding is knowing that our babies will be loved and cared for in the same way that we love and care for them here. As it is Twix and Crunchie's Special Day the only photos in this entry are of those 2 babies. I am going to miss my boys so much and tonight will be really difficult when they aren't around. Hopefully, by this evening, the bonding process in their new home will be going well and in a day or two, they will have forgotten who I even am as they have their own family now and that is how it should be. I will say again that Fred and Jacob are such a credit to their mum and dad because whenever they have visited I have been so very impressed with their handling of our cats and our babies.

siamesecats Day 92 - October 25, 2005

Due to the fact that mummy is busy doing paperwork today she's hasn't had the time to write out our diaries today, so we decided to do it ourselves and got our daddy to write it up for us. The problem is that we can't speak and he can't spell so this could be interesting!!.

It's a bit of a sad time for us now becasue it's our last week together, so we will be holding a bit of a farewell party tonight as Twix and Crunchie are set to leave tomorrow. We've planned a bit of midnight feast in the kitten room tonight and MC Mrs Tee has already arranged the music for the evening. We have to keep it a bit low profile so that the old foggey cats in the house don't get in to spoil the fun. We have of course invited the dancers because what's a party without a salsa or a tango!.We did think about having some fireworks for the party, but we experianced them last night from someone's house down the road and too be honest we spent more having to shout at each other so that we could hear what we were tryiing to say to each other than anything else, so we'll give those a miss.

If we can manage to sneak the camera upstairs we'll take some pics for you and post them tomorrow. It will be strange having the family broken up, but we are all looking forward to seeing what mischief we can get up to in our new homes and have promised to stay in touch as best we can.

Day 91 - October 24, 2005 - 13 weeks old today!
Sadly, we are coming to the end of the Chocolate Bars kitten diary as we have now reached week 13 and my babies will be leaving me for their new homes this weekend. All except for Buttons, who is not leaving until Tango goes as they are going to be sharing the same home. It's going to be a fairly busy week as all the paperwork needs to be done for our babies' new owners and that is a rather time consuming job. As you can tell by the photos below, our babies have not left poor Drambuie alone for 5 minutes. I think that when they do go, she will probably give a huge sigh of relief. Amaretto only lets them feed from her now if she can really be bothered. At the moment, she is more interested in calling and singing for a mate than she is in her babies.
