Kitten Diaries
Amaretto
July 2005
Amaretto's 3rd Kitten Diary - July 2005 to October 2005
Day 83 - October 16, 2005

Before I start any of the entries I would like to say a big Congratulations to Caryll, owner of Premier Schimmel Chilli Tequila (Kyla) as Kyla won her 3rd PC at the Kentish show yesterday and is now a titled cat. Also many congratulations to Marcelle, owner of Schimmel Dadada Dahoops who won his first CC at the Kentish show.

Twix and Crunchie have been spending an awful lot of time with Amarula who suddenly thinks she is a very young kitten again and all 3 of them are often see either curled up together or playing mad games throughout the house. Whispa and Buttons, being female, are slightly more gentle with their games and are much more concerned with looking their absolute best than playing rough and tumble with their brothers. During visiting time, both girls will come into the room of a night for cuddles and lots of purrs while their brothers tear up and down the hallway and play "washing basket" games.

Day 82 - October 15, 2005

There are no photos in any of today's diary entry as it's been a devastating morning for us due to the loss of Cute T overnight.

My Chocolate Bars made liars out of me yesterday afternoon because despite the chilly weather they went out into the cat run to chase each other and play games. Twix was the first to go out there and he was soon followed by the rest of his family. I couldn't believe it. With the weather that we had yesterday, the last place I would want to be is outdoors but the Chocolate Bars obviously decided that some fresh air was in order. Today as the weather has been so lovely and the sun is out, they have also been in the run during the times today that they have been awake and they've been having lots of fun and games.

Day 81 - October 14, 2005
Our Chocolate Bars haven't been outside in the cat run now for 2 days due to the rain and cold weather. They are smart enough to know that it's much more fun to stay inside where it's warm and they can create just as much havoc indoors as they can outdoors. All 4 of the babies have really taken to Amarula and Tia Lusso lately and it's not uncommon to see both these older girls grooming and sleeping with the Chocolate Bars which is really lovely. The only time there is ever a problem is when one of them wants to feed off Tia Lusso who obviously is only a very young girl herself and she can not understand why the babies are doing what they are so she swears at them whenever they try. Whispa, Buttons & Crunchie were all in the bedroom last night during visiting time, they were running over the bed, under the bed and playing hide and seek in and out of our clothes shelves, much to the amusement of the older cats who were sitting on the bed just watching them. Twix didn't come into the bedroom because he was too busy playing "washing basket" games with the Dancers.

Day 80 - October 13, 2005
I had to laugh at Buttons this morning because she was playing with a toy spider and when she had it in her mouth she became very possessive over it and growled constantly if any of the other babies were in the vicinity. There was no way she was letting them get their paws on her spider. A few of them were brave enough to try, but none so brave as Tango except when he tried to take it from her, Buttons picked it up in her mouth, growled and ran off with it, growling as she ran. Tango however, couldn't take no for an answer and as Buttons is running along with her prized possession, Tango is running alongside her, smacking her on the head and back repeatedly, trying to make her drop it. Crunchie has decided that his ultimate goal in life is to become an Olympic diver because I watched in stunned disbelief as he jumped directly off the radiator bed straight into the large water bowl. Not the most spectacular of dives I must admit.

Day 79 - October 12, 2005
It is difficult to write this entry as I have a Tortie Tart by the name of Toussaint sitting on my shoulders, with both front legs around my head, while she nibbles on my neck and ears, making it rather difficult to type. Like all of our other babies, the Chocolate Bars have spent the last 24 hours having fun and games. Out of the 4 babies, Twix and Crunchie are the ones who enjoy the cat run the most and they are often found in there, stalking our older cats or each other. Whispa is definitely the most photogenic of the babies and whenever I point a camera at her, she is generally more than happy to sit there posing, looking beautiful. For entertainment value though, Crunchie & Buttons are better than any program on television as they have the maddest games and just bounce about all over the house.

Day 78 - October 11, 2005
For the past 24 hours, all of our Chocolate Bars have been making great use of the cat run which really pleases me because I love to watch the babies outside in the sunshine and fresh air. Whispa and Buttons have spent most of the morning upstairs today creating havoc in the bathroom as per usual. Although Buttons was the worst offender and was involved in most of the games. None of the Chocolate Bars have any fear of our new Tortie Tart (Toussaint) who is still settling in. She swore at Twix earlier and he showed not the slightest bit of interest. The entries aren't incredibly long today because I'm suffering from a touch of the flu and am really struggling to make any sense of my typing, mind you, it probably doesn't make sense when I'm 100% either!

Day 77 - October 10, 2005 - 11 weeks old today!

There's not really much of an entry at all today and the 4 photos are the same in each entry. As we were out all day yesterday, today has been spent trying to integrate Toussaint into the household and trying to catch up with everything that I am now so far behind on.

I must admit to getting a bit of a shock when I started today's entry as I hadn't realised that our Chocolate Bars are 11 weeks old now. Time is flying by and they are booked in for their 2nd vaccinations in just 10 days time! We really need to make the most of the time we have left with them because it will pass all too quickly. Our Chocolate Bars spent most of this morning upstairs in the hallway and in the bathroom, chasing each other and pouncing on each other and playing hide and seek with the washing basket. I do not know where they get their energy from. Twix spent a little while on the stairs today, lying there waiting for me to go up and down them and each time I did, he will pounce at my legs, trying to trip me up.
