Kitten Diaries
Amaretto
August 2004
Amaretto's 1st Kitten Diary - August 2004 to November 2004
Day 116 - November 28, 2004

Yet another dreadful day as the last of my Gumnuts has now left me. Cuddlepie had an extended stay with us which was really lovely as we had an extra few weeks of cuddles with her but she has now gone to share her home with Samantha, Dean and their other fur children. We're really going to miss Cuddlepie as she just slotted in with the rest of our cats as if she was one of the family and it has been very difficult to remember that she wasn't actually with us permanently. I do know though that she will be very happy in her new home and will be well looked after and loved which is all any breeder can ask. I do think that Sambuca and Drambuie are desperately going to miss little Cuddlepie because since Banksia left, both girls had "adopted" Cuddlepie as their own. They slept with her, played with her, they let her chew on their ears and tails and acted as if she was their own little baby.

I guess this means we've now come to the end of yet another Schimmel kitten diary and I'd like to thank each of our new kitten families for agreeing to share their lives with our little Gumnuts. I'd also like to thank our vet, Andy Garton, and everyone who has been following our Gumnuts' kitten diary. I can actually say that this litter has been the easiest that we have had, the babies have been an absolute joy and a delight. I must admit though that I am looking forward to a short spell of having no kittens in the house and it will be nice to just get back to normal for a while. Having said that, I'm fully expecting to be uploading one, maybe two new Pregnancy Diaries within the next couple of weeks as 2 of our queens have very recently been mated.

Day 100 - November 12, 2004
This is the day I've been dreading, as has the rest of my family because Banksia is going to live with Saul & Monika today. Everyone who has ever met Banksia has totally fallen in love with her and has wanted to take her home. She's such a lovely little girl with the most appealing coat colour. Banksia is one of those girls who is always "in your face". She absolutely loves cuddles and loves attention. She also loves to play lots of games with her feline companions. One thing I am pleased about though is that she is going to such a great home. Saul & Monika already have a Schimmel baby, Mia, who is now 6 months old and she will be a wonderful playmate for Banksia. I really do not know what Cuddlepie is going to do once Banksia leaves as she'll be on her own.Even though Cuddlepie is still with us, there will be no further diary entries until November 28 when Cuddlepie goes to her new home.

Day 99 - November 11, 2004
Today is not a particularly good day as my Banksia is leaving us tomorrow afternoon. We did everything possible to try and convince Saul & Monika that she should remain with us, however, they still seem to feel that she is theirs. The little ones have spent more time upstairs today than they have downstairs and neither of them have been in the cat run at all, not that I'm surprised as it's like the Arctic outside at the moment. Cuddlepie's favourite sleeping spot is on the radiator bed and she usually shares that with Cacao whereas Banksia much prefers to sleep in the corner of the hallway with the Ugly Stepsisters. Tomorrow I am definitely going to have photos in the entry. I just haven't had the time lately unfortunately.

Day 98 - November 10, 2004
It's been an incredibly hectic week which is the reason for the delayed entries. Our house still seems incredibly quiet without Snugglepot and my remaining 2 Gumnuts are certainly not as active or noisy without their brother around. Perhaps they are finally turning into little ladies as opposed to little footy players! Every evening, both girls have a wander into the bedroom and climb up on the bed for games and cuddles which is really quite sweet.
